Not sure if anyone actually gives a shit here about the AFL but I thought I would make a thread just in case. Season starts on Thursday. My predictions for the year:

    Premiers: Richmond
    Runners up: West Coast
    Brownlow: Dangerfield
    Coleman: Ben Brown
    Wooden Spoon: Gold Coast

    Top 8:
    Richmond
    West Coast
    Adelaide
    Melbourne
    Collingwood
    GWS
    Sydney
    Essendon

I'm flip-flopping on my ladder again, because I'm a fickle bastard.

    1. Richmond
    2. Adelaide
    3. West Coast
    4. Melbourne
    5. Greater Western Sydney
    6. Collingwood
    7. Port Adelaide
    8. Geelong

    9. Essendon
    10. Hawthorn
    11. Brisbane Lions
    12. Sydney
    13. North Melbourne
    14. Fremantle
    15. St Kilda
    16. Western Bulldogs
    17. Carlton
    18. Gold Coast

    Premiers: Richmond
    Runners-up: West Coast

    Brownlow: Patrick Cripps
    Coleman: Ben Brown

I like the Cripps prediction for the Brownlow. Carlton just need to win a few more games than last year to give him more opportunities for 3 vote games. Umpires love him though which always helps

    My tips for Round 1:

    Richmond
    Collingwood
    Melbourne
    Adelaide
    Sydney
    West Coast
    St Kilda
    GWS
    Norf

If Hogan gets his act together Im expecting freo to be much improved, he and Lobb were much needed. Thinking they'll be about 10th.

If Rance has done his ACL then that leaves a big hole in Rochmond’s defence. Such an important plyer for them

Very disappointing start to the season last night for Collingwood. We now run the risk of starting the season 0-3 with Richmond and West Coast to come

    5. Adelaide
    6. Geelong
    7. Essendon
    8. GWS

Our loss on Friday night doesn’t look too bad now given the rest of the results this round

It was only belting Norff, but I'm surprised by how many people didn't tip Freo and haven't realised they should be much improved.

-Hamling, Pearce, Nathan Wilson and Ryan are class across the backline. I've been saying Ryan is the next big thing for 12 months.
-Fyfe has got some back up in the middle with the emergence of Langdon and Brayshaw, plus Walters, Blakely and Mundy being used in spurts in the middle. Banfield a handy tagger.
    - They've finally got targets up front in Lobb, Hogan, a fit Tarbernar and an ever improving Cox (and now suddenly Mccarthy looks likely). All this will see Walters and Munday all the more damaging when used up front (Ballantyne still looks cooked though)
-There's ruck depth between Darcy and Sandilands, if helps needed from Tabernar or Lobb, we're still going to have some tall timber up front.
    - Then they'll have the likes of Cerra and the Hills brothers brapping around the wings/flanks.

It's a pretty nicely balanced squad that should get better and better with the youth. I said 10th earlier in this thread but I've had them pegged anywhere from 7th-11th pending injuries, particularly how Sandi and Darcy hold up. A step up from their usual 11th-14th range, I think they should be a real force in 2020 though.

I’m silly for thinking Essendon would be any good this season. I know it’s only early days, but we honestly looked terrible. We will be lucky to finish any higher than 10th.

Great win tonight. We needed to bounce back after last week and we did exactly that. Another massive game next week against West Coast in the GF rematch.

FWIW my tips for this week:

    Collingwood
    Sydney
    Essendon
    Port
    Geelong
    West Coast
    Norf
    Hawthorn
    Fremantle

So many upsets already this season. I think this season will be more even than last.

This round looks pretty tough to tip as well with quite a few 50-50 games. You’d think that the loser of the Essendon v Melbourne game is done so a lot is riding on Friday night

Just can not keep talls and forwards on the paddock.
