totally agree about Gibson, he is a cunt the way he left

Anyway predicting Rioli and Puopolo will go for goal of the century but will fail

  2. PaulFromOz PF Oz

    Same thing Gary Ablett did.

  3. MASTERS S Masters

no, everyone pretty much knew he was going plus he had doen pretty much everything at the club

Gibson was the leading defender for most goals kicked on him when he was at North. Was more than happy he left as we have plenty of undersized defenders to get bags kicked on them by the monsters.

Just found out my uncle is mates with Longmire, might have to try and get in the sheds before the game and pump the boys up.

    Swans by 64.

I would leave if my club couldn't make finals, lucky the Richmond players aren't like me

We got Black and Kennedy, for Gibson and Taylor Duryea, who ever the fuck that is. I'm happy with that. Both Black and Kennedy will be better players than Gibson

Who that fuck are Black and Kennedy? Gibson is one of, if not the best defender in the best team this year. Definitely a loss on your behalf.

  8. Youngman JE Harding

Both young lads, who when have developed will be jets. Kennedy is going to tear shit up with Atley on the half back line next year. Black just has to get past Hansen to be the third tall, still only young

  9. brettman135 BR Hall

Aaron Black and Ayden Kennedy should turn into good footballers.

Gibson as a 1 on 1 defender is just another average defender.

  10. Youngman JE Harding

Kennedy will be a Jet, should play round 1 next year tbh

So two dudes who have probably played less then 10 games between them are better then Josh Gibson?

    Lol.

  12. Stormer BH Borisc

Even as a North fan, I find this statement questionable.

  13. Youngman JE Harding

Not currently obviously, but I'm happy having those two develop and become very good players. Josh Gibson is a ordinary one on one player, I'm not fussed he left, just the way he left

Have you even watched them play, seen anything?

  14. MatthewJay TA Miokovic

    *idiotic

  15. Youngman JE Harding

quite funny that you find it 'idiotic', but you haven't seen either of them play.

  16. brettman135 BR Hall

Neither are better than Gibson currently but developing these two kids who look like they are going to be good footballers rather than having Josh Gibson back their getting monstered by the big boys as he was when he was at North means we are better off as we are.

    Haha, this.

I genuinely think Kennedy will be gone. The lads not a 'monster' so he doesn't need as long as most talls to develop and he's just not. I doubt he'll ever be a better KPF than a Hansen or Tarrant and that says a bit. At best, a good ordinary player at worst - not afl standard. Probably the latter.

Black I've always liked but the clock is ticking on him too - now is when he needs to be making an impact. I think he'll be an alright footballer but never a great one unfortunately - as I've always liked him. It's pretty rare for a KPF to go three seasons without doing anything and then become an elite prospect.

I think the real error of your post is the underration of gibson. It'd be naive to expect him to be a physical monster given he's only 6'3. It'd be like expecting Matthew Pavlich to be the best contested grab - he's an elite forward but not in the conventional mold due to his size. Gibson the same - he's often on lads well taller and bigger than him and when he's one out, it'd be pretty bloody difficult to outmuscle them so you can't hold that against him IMO. Hawthorn's inability to secure a decent fullback really works against him. What he is absolutely elite at is reading the ball and preventing it from getting to that one out stage. He can still be 1-1 but get to the ball before his opponent purely due to his read of it. he's also an excellent stopper - he almost keeps his opponent clean while chopping any loose balls and being the third man up in many contests - while his disposal out of defence is awesome. He very much reminds me of Sam Fisher in many ways. He mightn't have been like this at north, but at the hawks he's excellent. I think you're just biased against him due to the circumstances of his departure.

Kennedy did his knee a few years ago and was very close to getting a game in the latter stages this year, he was playing awesome VFL footy, will make AFL tbh.

Black has had an injury interrupted start to his career but he has shown he will become a very good player. If he stays injury free, he will become a regular.

  19. MatthewJay TA Miokovic

I suppose if you do half decent in the VFL, it makes you better than a solid AFL player?

  20. MatthewJay TA Miokovic

Exactly, if they were half decent they'd be playing for North. Couldn't be the hardest team to crack into.
