Ipswich Step Up NRL Bid

Yeh totally agree but we're on our own. Another Sydney club has to go for CC to get in IMO. The fact that their bid is the only one actually up to par atm is so dire because it's inevitable they will get in IMO.

Central Coast needs a team, in my eyes. If every other provincial city in NSW/Queensland has one/looks like getting one, why shouldn't the Coast?

Agreed with the sentiments that NSW has too many sides, mind. I'd have, in preference....

    1. CC
    2. Perth
    3. Ipswich/other Brisbane team
    4. Sunshine Coast
    5. Wellington
    6. Central Qld

I'd like to see Adelaide in there somewhere, but they don't what it for whatever reason. CC are first purely because they seem to want it the most, Central Queensland are down in the bins because it lacks a real 'area' of support - Rockhampton is tiny in comparison to Cairns and Townsville.

Central Qld are pretty up to par. They've already secured Qld Government funding and backing for a stadium the size of Skilled Park and they've got a ridiculous amount of money behind them. The issue I have with Central Qld is that I fear that they'll be another Nth Qld where they'll have to pay overs to attract the best players because no one wants to live in Rocky. Townsville >>>>> Rocky.

It really isn't. They've also got Emerald an hour away. Mackay and Rocky are booming because of all the mining near there and out West of there. On top of this, that whole area is absolutely mad on footy.

Cause nobody likes League in this state except for about 5 people, haha.

Lol, have you been to emerald from rocky, and seriously Rockhampton is a hole, and isn't benefiting from the mining boom. If they set the team up in Mackay that would make a bit more sense, but then you are cutting NQ's grass. There are a lot of miners who travel from Mackay to Townsville to watch the football. By the same token central Queensland genuinely is nuts for footy, and they wouldn't have a problem getting a crowd in IMO. But no one would want to live in rockhampton except for blokes who have grown up in central queensland.

FTR I was born in Rocky and live in T'ville and there is a massive difference between the two places, both in terms of population and liveability, both in favour of townsville.

    Bring back the Crushers.

It's a pretty big and much neglected junior area. That and the fact that if even the A-League can set up a reasonably successful community-run club there, then the NRL should find it easy as well.

    Filled with talent.
    Bulldogs?
    Same as Ippy, TBH.

Townsville is a ****ing hole, I'd hate to think what Rockys like.

I loved the Ville last time that I went there. I'd seriously contemplate moving there if I didn't have a pretty plush job on the Sunshine Coast.

I've only kinda been through there breifly, but really didn't make me want to spend more time there.

It's a nice place to live, but only if you got people to do stuff with, because, it really is a fairly boring place. But no where near as boring as Rockhampton.

Sif. Most parts of Queensland will always be a hole. Similar case with NSW, mind.

  15. Colesy BL Hornby

    Wide Bay team imo

  16. Andato BJT Manera

I think the CQ bid covers that.

Deadset, stop posting. Furthermore, what the **** is with your sudden use of 'mind' as a word on its own. Your not so busy that you can't type mind you. Did someone at CW start using that?

Now is the perfect time to add another Brisbane side, once Lockyer leaves the whole Broncos culture will have been evaporated and plenty of fans will support the new team.

You can't debate that the Switch isn't a hole. It's pretty simple in my mind. Whole of Queensland is a stretch but it was a deliberate piss-take/troll at Boob thinking that Ipswich is as good as Redfern. Redfern's pretty bad but the Switch (not that I've ever been there, mind), sounds even more slummy.

Also, wtf does CW have to do with posting at cricsim? Just because "mind" should say "mind you", doesn't mean shit imo.

  20. Bender BG Herd

 at using mind in that sentence
