Not enough techno techno in his music for Flash.

Mambo no.5 was one of my favourite songs.

So glad he was able to collaborate with Metallica before he died. Easily the best music both parties have ever produced... said no one, ever.

Earlier this year my band and I covered Velvet Underground's "Heroin" live. We clearly thought we were quite edgy covering a song about such a taboo drug at a teen centre. Regardless of that though the world lost such a brilliant musician today. I absolutely adored the charm and slickness of Lou Reed's persona and the suave he had in his vocal delivery.

Lolled when he said Mermaid is a song about these sailors raping a mermaid, gave it another listen and lolled pretty hard when reading the lyrics.

Anyone hear Christopher Pyne last night carrying on about Lou Reed? Stupid cunt.

    'I'm a child of the 70's so I don't know Lou Reed'

Tom and Alex had a decent crack at him on the J's this morning.
