Never really played PC games. Always been a console guy. Keyboard keys just can't compare with a controller. Plus actually keeping up with graphics cards and all that is just money out the window. Consoles are definitely the better item for me.
Gaming isn't the reason I for which buy graphic cards anyway. More to do with video editing, 3d character modelling, 3d animation etc for my PG degree.
Oh yeah. Personally know my way around Blender a bit. I'm not an artistic guy so not really my thing but done a few things with it. My teacher last year is really into, he has written his own book (guide) on how to use the latest version.
Will second this. Played it one time when I was home alone. Will admit that I was kind of expecting GTA style bad ass cop hi-jinks so I was probably a little let down, but this game is pretty much Valium in CD form.
How is it different from Maya/3ds max? Is it harder to navigate or is it better than both those softwares?
I tried to play that again a while back but the graphics and slowness made me cringe. So spoilt these days.
LA Noire would had been fine as a slow game if had a fair bit of depth, an interesting protagonist and good dialogue. Doesn't really have those things either.
Yeah I know what you mean, still real fun for me though. I remember when I used to play it when I was like 9 or 10 and I thought it had pretty good graphics and then when I got my PS3 it was so much better, now going back to PS2 the GTA's look shit compared to GTA 4.
Being free I'd say it's not as good. Blender is so different tbh. Definitely quite a bit to get your head around. They reckon you either know Blender or Maya but not both. I'd stick with Maya if I was you. Personally I reckon modelling in Blender is better and rendering is better in Maya. However like I say - it's not really my thing so not the best person to ask.
Cheers. Trying to learn the basics of as many 3d softwares as I can atm. Will have to see how it goes myself.
