He specifically says each night though, doesn't give any mention of the day phase. We've got two dead townies who we don't know the roles of as well, so he could be claiming their role if mafia janitored a kill.

  2. Number 11 CJ Downes

True but doctors often protect for the day AND night phase if there's a sniper, at least that's how some mods run it. Either way we're in a pretty good position. Bedsey rejecting Baxter's track report pretty much guarantees one of them is mafia unless there's some wigout shenanigans at play.

  3. Baxter MJ Deane

Again, it feels like we're making his defense for him

  4. Speirz DG Speirs

If Baxter is, Heath is as well IMO.

  5. Bedsey JB Dempsey

Because it makes the most sense. The jig is up, Marcuss. You're done.

  6. Baxter MJ Deane

Only because you've seemingly killed the actual doc so that he's not here to CC you.

  7. Speirz DG Speirs

Why yourself and not any of the rest of us?

  8. Speirz DG Speirs

I feel like we've got a dead doc and dead watcher, ftr.

  9. Number 11 CJ Downes

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. Obviously I'm getting way ahead of myself but Baxter=Roleblocker, Heef=Godfather or something like that is a maybe.

I don't have a problem with it because he was attracting a fair amount of heat himself yesterday. Mighta though he was in danger.

  10. Number 11 CJ Downes

Cue Marucss saying I made his defense for him. :ninja:

  11. Bedsey JB Dempsey

Thought I was a goner. Plus I was the only one I could guarantee as a townie.

  12. Baxter MJ Deane

That makes no sense because as doc you want to protect the clears/outed power roles. If he was attracting heat then the Maf are more likely to keep him alive, no?

its either a stupid play or BS.

  13. Speirz DG Speirs

Even if you died though, somebody could've gained a report from your death. Would be more useful to try and save another power role IMO.

And the second point is moot, I don't think you would've been saving a mafia player from a vig or third party.

  14. Baxter MJ Deane

Also if we're talking about how doctors 'usually protect for a D/N phase' then it's equally common for them to be non-self-targeting isnt it?

  15. Speirz DG Speirs

This as well. I'd love to have some heat on me so I was kept in the game longer. I don't think that's the case though.

  16. Bedsey JB Dempsey

Protecting myself might be silly, sure. I don't know. It's been 3 years since I've played a game lol.

  17. Bedsey JB Dempsey

The only other outed role has been N11 afaik, and he's being role blocked according to earlier in the thread.

Bedsey is absolutely full of it. He isn't the doctor - I am. On N1 I protected Farhat. Protecting Number 11 on night 1 seemed like a dumb idea to me at the time. A lot of people had tried to lynch him during the day. I wasn't going to try to save him when he was a big mafia suspect. On N2 and N3 I protected N11 both nights. The idea of a role blocker didn't cross my mind.

    Unlynch Baxter
    Lynch Bedsey

Why? Because I said I didn't visit n2? Well - I didn't visit n2. Plenty of ways for either mafia or town to know about what I've been up to.

MafiaWiki isn't particularly helpful on this:

"Doctors are usually not allowed to self-target."
"In games with kills made during the Day, Day-Doctors have been known to exist. However, Doctors who protect at Night may or may not be able to protect against daykills."

Why did you opt to protect Downes on n1, Bedsey? You didn't know he was confirmed town at that stage, but protected him... Yet by n3, you've decided your best option is to protect yourself and no one else? That seems a pretty abrupt about-turn in logic terms.
