Buy a couple of lower-tier player, along with Watmough.
Maybe extend some contracts and front-load them to give us even more cash to splash for 2016.

  2. Magic AJ Parker

Is Lussick going to continue trying his hand at Rugby League next year?

  3. Quint Member

    I assume so.
    He's still under contract.

He wasn't too bad in 2013, but injuries and suspensions fucked him this season.
He may be a turd again next year, but I live in hope.

    So it will be:

    1. Robinson/Hopoate
    6. Norman
    7. Sandow
    9. Peats
    14. De Gois

that'd be the worst in the league wouldn't it?

  5. AVA T Delonge

Without actually doing any research, I am assuming that the Sharks still have a worse spine.

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Canberra and Gold Coast have a chance to be worse.

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

Nah, Austin and Sezer save them.

  8. morgieb MC Burridge

    1. Gordon
    6. Holdsworth/Brown
    7. Robson
    9. Ennis

Yeah, I'd take Parra's over that.

    Canberra's:

    1. ??????
    6. Austin
    7. Williams
    9. Hodgson

    Gold Coast's:

    1. Zillman/Mead
    6. Mortimer
    7. Sezer
    9. Srama

  9. Julian BJ Taylor

    ??? = Wighton or a new signing.

  10. Harry Sack SB Slippy

Fairly confident Hoffman will be at one of these 2 teams.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

Hoffman will definitely not be at Canberra. Stuart flat out denied he was even interested, as did Furner.

Canberra have actively chased Brett Stewart (but weren't willing to pay what he wanted), David Mead a long time ago so I think that ship has sailed and more recently Dallin Watene-Zelezniak who is put off by the long term signings of Mansour and Moylan.

  12. Julian BJ Taylor

I'd still prefer Canberra back Wighton's ability as a fullback.

  13. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah, unless they can get Stewart then I think Wighton's the best option. I'd play Wighton at fullback even if DWZ was signed tbh.

  14. Cribbage RG Cribb

I only just realised (through goggle, lol) that Canberra tried to sign Joseph Paulo. Would've been interesting.

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

It'll be interesting to see what Parra do with Paulo now that Watmough is at the club. Whenever he's been tried on the fringes he's been awful and Watmough sure as hell isn't going to play there.

  16. morgieb MC Burridge

Yeah was apparently reported that Hoffman -> GC.

    Wenty.

Hopefully. He is a decent backup, but I don't consider him to be a regular First Grader. His defence is too weak in the middle and plays too laterally in attack.
He is good to have in case of injury though.

I'll take a stab at what our best team will be next season:

    1. William Hopoate
    2. Semi Radradra
    3. Ryan Morgan
    4. Brad Takairangi
    5. Vai Toutai
    6. Corey Norman
    7. Chris Sandow
    8. Tim Mannah
    9. Nathan Peats
    10. Junior Paulo
    11. Manu Ma'u
    12. Tepai Moeroa
    13. Anthony Watmough

    14. David Gower
    15. Darcy Lussick
    16. Kenny Edwards
    17. Pauli Pauli

Obviously plenty of spots up for grabs for the likes of Peni Terepo, Lee Mossop, Bureta Faraimo, Reece Robinson, Joseph Paulo, Lee Mossop, Mitch Allgood, Beau Champion, Ben Crooks, Isaac DeGois.
My team look a bit light on props (just call me Timmy S.), but Gower and Watmough can cover that work in the middle very well. Moeroa can also move into the middle if need be. Basically I found it hard to leave one of Gower, Moeroa and Edwards out, so I put them all in.

Danny Wicks and Richie Fa'aoso have been out of the game for a while and I would expect them to start in Wenty to get used to the game again. They have the potential to be regular First Graders if they reach their best. If they do that will give us that size in the middle we are lacking.

Our backline (which was considered a strength last season) looks pretty bad after the departures of Hayne and Tonga. Norman will hopefully be better after his first full year at five-eighth, and Sandow, while much improved this year from previous seasons, still needs to work on his decision making in the opposition 20.

Plenty of young guys waiting to make the step up:
    Ryan Matterson
    Fabian Goodall
    John Folau
    Nathan Davis
    Daniel Alvaro
    Kaysa Pritchard
    Josh Aloiai

  19. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

I still think Paulo is an NRL grade 5/8th

  20. Cribbage RG Cribb

I really don't think Parramatta can afford to do that with Hayne gone.
