Yeah like AVA said, we tried to find a mafia and then AVA had the ability to message them and then we wanted to side with them. It seemed the right thing to do because town weren't really willing to scum hunt and even if they got a lynch started on us, we had solid "green" claims. What we couldn't stop however is mafia night killing us. Anyway Weeman I felt was playing his typical mafia game where he is active but contributes nothing of substance. And after he made the post saying "I have no important role", I investigated him but was roleblocked by Logan. Then next turn I investigated Heef and found out he was mafioso but I was already dead. We were actually so gutted because of how close we came Mafia won without us anyway. Town weren't great but still credit to Heef, Weeman and Farhat. Farhat I actually didn't pick to be mafia because I kind of forgot he's in the game lol.
Pretty shocking game from the town all things considered. After I killed Athlai there just didn't really seem to be anyone willing or able to contribute in any meaningful way, so it was really easy to just slide under the radar. Farhat in particular should have been picked up for making basically no posts in the game thread, but nobody seemed to care. I definitely shouldn't have got away with all of my night kills without suspicion as well. Probably helped that all the people with decent theme knowledge died quite early, but I think there were definitely some implications in the write-ups that Thor was on the loose. Also have no idea how I got away with claiming that Logan didn't roleblock me without any suspicion from the town. It would have been a really dumb thing for Logan to lie about.
And then when Logan died as town, no-one thought to lynch you for blatantly lying about being roleblocked
We did. Then he claimed Thor and I scumhunted sledger. Definitely a candidate for worst town performance if Johnny Clams gets some new awards on the go.
If you'd have been town there's no way I'd have gotten away with it, but a third party hit was always going to look better than it actually was for the town.
You'd most likely had won if I hadn't done that, I think. Or I think someone said you'd have had a much greater chance. Nobody pushed Weeman hard though, considering there had been suspicions raised about him throughout the game. I definitely take issue with Steve saying I got myself lynched. Weeman clearly got me lynched, and no-one in their right mind would be forthcoming with info if there were only 2 lynches on them, one made my someone who had clearly been at loggerheads with me all game, unless it was vitally important info.
Really I don't think I, nor any of the other mafia really, played particularly well. Not that we played badly, but we didn't really fool the town with any cunning plays, other than me lying about being roleblocked by Logan. It was just the combination of what seems like some massive luck when people were investigating me, the writeups which did implicate Thor being ones I could come up with some justification for and a general lack of effort from the town a few days in. What's annoying though is that after my last two games everyone is going to assume that I'm mafia whenever I'm going under the radar and posting but not really being very useful. Really that's just how I like to play mafia in general, regardless of which side I'm on, unless I have anything specific.
Nah you kept arguing with me about what you thought I'd said rather than what had actually been said, lied about your role and produced some complete fail logic when you suggested that we shouldn't look at the Arheiner lynch for potential targets.
And Steve didn't, no?* You never actually pointed out during the game that I was apparently arguing what I thought you said, rather than what you did say. I didn't lie about my role, at all. When did I lie about my role? I didn't say that we shouldn't look at it, I said we shouldn't look at it as though it's set in stone. *Obviously I mean when Steve and I were arguing.
