Its obviously an achievement But I can't imagine Wengers going to be at them about whats gone wrong over the season the same way Fergie would be if we would have finished there
Good stuff Arsenal . Deserved celebration. The chance to play in CL rather then Europa is a big positive and you're starting to build a solid squad that looks set to stay around and not look at other bigger club options.
Baines played every minute of every game this season and created the most chances in the league. World class.
And that's exactly how it should be, since you're much better than us. Jesus Christ. I'm sure Chris Hughton won't be going at Nowrich over what's gone wrong over the season as much as Wenger would if Arsenal finished there. Seriously, what a stupid point.
Much better? Aparantly we're the worst team thats ever won the league and with a "couple of signings" you could be challenging
People need to realise that despite the fact we've not won anything in years, there has been progress. We sold one of the best strikers in the world and only scored 2 goals less than last season, we conceded 12 fewer and finished with 3 more points. The defensive record is the big thing for me. We're not the same bunch of prissys who can just be shoved around the park, there's a real grit to this side. Wilshere, Arteta are brilliant anchoring pair in midfield and Ramsey is becoming very, very good in that role too. Dropping Vermaelen was a big thing for me. Mertesacker and Koscielny make far fewer individual errors, are far less likely to break the line and they just play so damn well together.
Meh, I think we're a better side now than we were last season, but I wouldn't say there's actually been great progress over a long period of time. We were much stronger in the late noughties, and were genuine title challengers a couple of times. We haven't been a shout for the tittle since the 09/10 season. It would've been good progress if we hadn't lost quality players almost every year, but we have.
