Each year a few of my mates and I try and give Brownlow votes for each game that we watch and then have a bit of a flutter at the end of the season with most team votes, head to heads etc. It's hard to watch every single game so it would be good to get a few opinions on here as we all watch a lot of footy. Will be interesting to see how close we actually get to predicting it come the end of the year (it's impossible to predict as there are always some strange votes given but it's a bit of fun). From Round 1 we have the following: Adelaide v Essendon 3. Watson 2. Howlett 1. Dempsey Fremantle v West Coast 3. Barlow 2. Mundy 1. D Pearce Richmond v Carlton 3. Cotchin 2. Gibbs 1. Deledio Collingwood v North Melbourne 3. Pendlebury 2. Swallow 1. Cloke Geelong v Hawthorn 3. Selwood 2. Mitchell 1. Mackie Gold Coast v St Kilda 3. Ablett 2. Dixon 1. Unsure Melbourne v Port Adelaide 3. Hartlett 2. Br Ebert 1. Kornes? Doggies v Brisbane and Sydney v GWS we didn't see. Feel free to discuss and add your own votes and I will put together a leaderboard each week during the year and see how we go.

I do this every year and make a killing on the brownlow. I don't vote for BoG, I vote for perceived umpires' BoG
That's the plan, hopefully we can keep the discussion going as the more people who get involved and give votes the better and hopefully more accurate it will be
Yep that's the big issue, trying to figure out what the umpires are thinking. That's why I gave Cloke 1 vote due to him taking some big marks at crucial times when we were either falling behind or trying to pull away.

If Deledio played in a pocket, would he deserve votes? If Milne had 17 touches, mostly effective and scored 3 goals he'd be far from votes. Deledio was nigh on nonexistent in the middle and popped up for some handy goals, yeah. I was disappointed with him. Walker shut down his opponent and completely diced open the game with his footskills all night. I'd say he was 2nd BoG behind Gibbs but the umpires won't give the 3 & 2 to players from the losing team.
Very rarely does this happen, but a guy like Walker could get votes considering he got some of his own ball as well and uses it pretty well.
