For those who don't know, this is just third grade, straight up. Because of the new rules about uncontracted players etc I thought I'd run this for at least the start of the season while I can actually be bothered. It may stop happening if I lose time/interest for the second half of the season though. I won't be asking for lineups or anything; I'll do them myself at the time or it'd slow me down, but yeah, keep an eye out for these games if you're an ALC selector, I guess. Round 1 Squires v Griffins
I'll probably throw in a CricSim version of the county cricket "Unicorns" as well. That way, if someone signed up here but didn't get a club straight away, I could give them games in this comp for the Unicorns to keep them interested. Would be a good advertisement to the clubs as to how good the player was too.
Some of the teams already have names; old ALC team names and semi-official links with old now dead clubs from other sites or clubs that never got created. Ravens - Ducks Gamblers - Carbonators Stingrays - Crocodiles Pumas - Jaguarundi Sticky Wickets - Griffins Allstars - Stargazers? Cyclones - Firebolts? Vipers - nfi Crusaders - nfi As you can see, not sure on all of them yet.
Stargazers!! I remember that name from when we were debating the second grade franchise name before Season 11. Someone opened a poll with this name in it iirc.
Yeah, that's the only reason I'm suggesting it basically. I believe it's the only time another name for Allstars/Somestars has ever been suggested. Something like "Nostars" or "Exstars" would keep the theme going though.
"Exstars" probably more appropriate - I doubt there's be much looking upwards from this competition, which was what the Stargazers were about
You could probably make a joke about them having gone nova or something - just call them the Novas even - but for the fact that people might confuse it with the member SuperNova.
Well he posted it with a question mark in a post with a bunch of empty spaces that explicitly said he isn't sure, so yes, I'd say that's definitely final.
