http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU1o4U2jep4 This happened in 1990 some of you jokers will remember this. Before this Hong Kong Sevens tournament and this try in particular. No one gave a rats ass about 7s. I didn't even know it was played at a competitive level. We all stayed up later to watch the final - and then this incredible try happened and Fiji won and 7s caught the public imagination. Love the little shimmy - horse step - to get around the full back.
Here's the full game http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/nabuarugbyclub/videos/1990-hong-kong-sevens-finals-8342.html to the above posts - the try is widely regarded as the best 7s try of all time. In part because it came in the final. In part because it put 7s on the map. Mostly because of the between the legs pass which had never been seen before.
I thought this would be the famous try Cullen set up. Anyway no try in 7's really impresses me because you know you only have to beat 7 other players.
I still think you only played really well in about two of your games. In the others you were clearly dominant but it didn't all come together. I think the All Blacks are benefiting hugely from South Africa being in a massive rebuilding phase after letting players go too long up to the next world cup. We have had all sorts of problems and there is no really strong team in the north. The All Blacks are excellent but are sort of world champions by default. You won the world cup last year deservedly but none of the other teams apart from probably Wales can say they had a good world cup. Even if other teams were strong you still probably would have won but they did make it easy for you. For all the talk of the record the All Blacks were a better side last year and probably a far better side in 2007 when they got knocked out. Around 2005 was probably when the All Blacks were at their best.

Do you really think that? The Backrow '11 > Backrow '07 Backline '11 > Backling '07 Tight five is the only thing that 07 may possible have over '11 even then guys like Mealamu and Hore are alot better in '11 then anyone we had in the tightfive in 07
