    Tbh, I think it would make sense to split the 40 or so in half (or as close to half as possible) and have 2 games running simultaneously. Skippos said he's got one sorted too, do he could just the other. Also means that Ritchie can play in one as well as run one if he wants.

    How would knowledge help? It should have no effect on how the game is played. I know there are some big diplomacy map variants, but diplomacy is a game that is really hard-limited as far as how many people you can actually fit in goes. The map just isn't big enough for 40 people.

    I'd also imagine a great number of people would drop out mid-way, if not immediately.

    Yeah, that's definitely the best way to go. I've also got a game with 16 roles that I can do at some point.

    I reckon you could fit in 40 if you really want too and can customise the map, but would be hardly ideal to manage and would create a real mess.
