Okay then. The conditions are wet. It's been raining here all day and the conditions are going to be tough. The Seasonal Rugby XV comes in on the back of a tough win in the first game and the Scots will be looking to turn them over and fuck them hard in this 2nd match.
5:45 Decent move from Scotland. A solid scrum 30m into SR XV territory. A solid hit gained them a yard. The ball is spun out wide. Chris Paterson with the ball now. He spies a run from Rory Lamont on the far side and goes for the League style cross-field kick. He's overhit that though, and it runs out the side in the end zone. Nice idea, but poor execution.
14:30 First meaningful attack from the SR XV comes off the back of an infringement from John Barclay entering a ruck from the side on the half way line. Blunder punts it down field for a line out on the 22m line. Good throw from Morris taken by Chung at the rear of the line out. Chung busts a couple of metres before spinning the ball wide with a massive cut out pass to Farnsworth. He's tagged by his opposite number who was very quick up on him there. Surely offside? Farnsworth somehow offloaded to Blunder in the tackle. He's nailed firmly by Alan Jacobson who's come across well there. Lowe and Beattie pile in and secure the turnover for the Scots. Paterson hoofs this clear up to the halfway line.
28:00 First points on the board, but the Scots deserve it. They've been on top but only have 3 points to show for it. James McDougal scored a lineout steal just 10m from the SR XV's line. However, he immediately knocked the ball on and it was a defensive scrum to form. The referee calls up Michael Chung for illegal binding. Very harsh technical call there, but Paterson steps up and secures the 3 points. SR 0 - 3 Scotland
32:30 Tough to move the ball in these conditions? Don't you believe it! Davis secures clean ball in a massive ruck after Chung is tackled by Kelly Brown. Pilgrim throws it to Ames who busts through a weak tackle from Joe Ansbro. He gains 8 metres before things get congested and he passes off to Eddie Morris. Morris flattens Johnnie Beattie and thunders down 9 metres before passing off to Pilgrim. Pilgrim's away here. He's a nippy player and he's only 5m from the line when a Scottish backrower is drawn into the tackle. Pilgrim telegraphed that early and passes a good flat pass away to Callum Laing in space. He's through. What a well worked try! Laing dots down about 10m to the right of the posts. Ames converts with ease. SR XV 7 - 3 Scotland
38:30 But the lead won't last until halftime. Johnnie Beattie bursts through the SR XV's defensive line from only about 12m out. He touches down under the posts without a SR XV player laying a finger on him. Terrible defence there. Terrible. Paterson converts easily and that's half time. SR XV 7 - 10 Scotland
Half Time analysis. No real standouts for SV XV. Ben Read has put in a number of good tackles. Marcuss Deane's busted 3 and made 3 tackles whilst Andrew James has had a shocker. 2nd half to start shortly.
47.15 Scotland have been camped out on the SR XV try line for 4 phases, but lose the ball as Joe Ansbro fumbles a weak pass.
