I actually had no idea who you supported tbh I've never picked up on it anyway and I've never seen you post a comment like that before haha. I just thought you were a bit of a neutral fan (like cricket I suppose) and only supported NSW.
Tolman was a machine. Absolutely worked his arse off. I thought that Keating was also good. The kicking game of he and Hodkinson was excellent.
Yeah, that's very much true. Even moreso with league than cricket really. I followed Wests as a kid though; I was a real biased diehard fan. EWS actually stands for "Eccentric Wests Supporter". Deep inside me I still do support them but I'm pretty disillusioned with NRL clubs because they don't really represent anything to differentiate themselves from each other. My support for them is so weak that all it takes is for me to have money on the opposition to make me want them to lose.
Expanding on this, I must say that using Pritchard up the middle for a period was an unexpected but effective move.
AWTA. I thought Keating was shot as last season, but he had a great game. And Tolman - WAG. Top meters, top tackler, was absolutely everywhere
Keating showed what he can do when he's playing as a five-eighth outside a proper halfback. Parramatta gave him basically no opportunity to do that.
I thought Keating was fairly average tbh. Hodkinson had a good game and Ennis went ok though. Barba looked dangerous.
It's annoying because Robson is a commodity a lot of teams could use IMO. His execution at times at pretty poor and his creative game isn't first grade standard but he makes very good decisions and controls the tempo of the attack very well, which is exactly what many teams are missing. He also has a good running game and is a good defender. Souffs fans won't believe me but if they stuck him in next to Sutton they'd go a lot better. Putting him with Mortimer is just fail though. He definitely needs a real creative player with him.
Anyway, I was pretty impressed by the Dogs. I reckon that they have the makings of a top 4 team if they can come up with that sort of effort each week.
Yeah, Robson is the perfect organising half that doesn't get in the way of your creative players and just fuck everything up. Perfect partner for someone who just has that spark and can turn on something at the drop of a hat, but can't organise for shit.
Lollercopter. One performance, that is all. Canberra will go through the season undefeated and rack up a million points for if they played like they did yesterday
One thing that really impressed me with the Dogs is that in Keating and Hodkinson, they have to have the best defensive halves in the comp. Hodkinson's a real asset when you've got Idris defending at centre.
The dogs have some good forwards in the waiting as well. Eastwood and Hodgson and to a lesser extent, Millington, Browne, Halatau and Warburton.
