Never even seen it, is it good? Always thought sevens was terrible because there were too few people on the park, 10 sounds perfect.
I reckon rugby 13s would be cool. They could tinker the point scoring, get rid of lineouts and try to clean up the rucks a bit to counteract the fact that there are a couple less players on each side. Would work great IMO.
Could even add a play the ball after each phase eliminating the Ruck mauls.etc add 40/20 while they're at it
In my limited experience of playing it, I found it much more enjoyable than 7s or even a full match. It was a good balance of spreading the ball and contesting the ruck, and the pace of it ensured that the structure of the game actually changed as it progressed.
Played this last night. Actually played out well (structurally) despite our team being shithouse. Reckon this needs to take over 7's
Still better than the other shit popular sports we have to swallow. Wtf else is there? NFL? Possibly the worst spectator sport I've ever bothered to watch. Soccer? A good game here and there but otherwise boring.
My point is from a money making perspective there is so much sport out there now and not the audience for it. Hell I turned on sky sport one the other day and there was secondary school rugby on there... I don't mind rugby but if I wanna see a bunch of 16 and 17yo boys running round I'll go down to my local school. I think various sports run the risk of flooding so much of their sport into the world they'll turn off their audience.
I get the feeling 10s would get alot more ratings than reserve grade rugby if they promoted it, that's just stupidity on their behalf. They could even grab those reserve grade players and pretend they're first grade in the 10s world. People just don't want to watch reserve grade of anything that much.
Got absolutely fucked up in tonight's game. Dude kept throwing hospital passes and when you're 62kgs up against people twice your size it doesn't end well. All in good fun though.
