I've never really enjoyed league. I can understand why people prefer league to union but what people see as "boring" (time wasted in union scrums, breakdowns, kicking duels etc) I consider to be some of the most interesting facets of union due to the intense competition there (mainly the first two though ).

I also love the forward play in union, others find a 20 phase passage of forward play extremely boring, I love it. One of my favourite parts of rugby is seeing one team trailing by 4 with time almost up inching ever closer to the try line from their 22 for multiple phases with P&G and driving. The tension, the build up, the drama!

I worded it awfully but I pretty much enjoy the buildup of multiple phases of union more than the six tackles + kick of league.

 

It carries on after the siren in League as well until a tackle or another break in play does it not?

 

I love it. Makes for a ****ing intense passage of play. I remember the Auckland/Southland Ranfurly Shield challenge in the Air NZ Cup last year. The siren had gone and I think Southland had the ball in their own 22 and trailing by less than a converted try. They managed to hold on to the ball and march their way up to within 5m of the Auckland try line (something ridiculous like 30 phases...) before I think the ruck became unplayable and thus a scrum was awarded ending the match. Was some intense stuff. I think full time was at 84 or 85 minutes.
