This is such a huge event. Probably the biggest game of sport New Zealand has ever had. If it was the final it would be for sure. Effectively it is.
A) We haven't won it for so long B) It's at home I think it's fair to say it's right up there as the biggest game ever tbh. The importance and desperation to win a WC magnifies after every failure
What about the inaugural world cup? Surely that was important. The 95 world cup final was also a significant moment in the history of the world let alone world rugby.
Yeah I was thinking that about the '95 WC but the inaugural WC was a walk in the park really. Doubt there was as much apprehension from NZ fans before either tbh
Reckon we'll probably feel even more jitters in the final tbph. If we lose to Australia we lose to that team thats left in the tournament that we can honestly say might deserve it on their day. IMO if we lost to Australia it wouldn't be a proper choke. Wales or France in the final on the other hand? Particularly France? If we lost that half the country would suicide.
