Would people be keen? Plus I'm also worried about no one being able to take over in running it for a bit...
I'd put my hand up to do whatever was needed, and I'd say there'd be others who are > me in quality and ethic and respect who would too.
Vipers: Last Season: Premiers Biggest Strength: The greatest strength of the Vipers is their batting. Not only do they have some of the best batsman in the comp within their top 6, but the depth of their batting is astounding. Unlike other contenders that possess lengthy tails that it could be argued start at number 7, the Vipers will boast batsman or allrounders all the way to number 9. Biggest Weakness: In recent seasons, a top line spinner has become a crucial ingredient to any premiership charge. The Vipers are the first to admit that they no longer possess such a commodity. Instead, they will make do with a rookie boasting one Bannerman Shield wicket for the cost of 92 runs. While the Vipers have been very upbeat about Hughes’s progress in this department, doubts will of course still linger. Key Player: DA ‘Louis’ Eggman will be the key man, as he was last season, to the Vipers’ premiership defence. In him they have a top line bowler, something that some of their competitors boast a number of. Eggman will be tasked with making up this difference. Best Gain: Unlike other premiers of recent seasons, the Vipers have been able to retain the majority of their squad from last season. One notable upgrade though is the signing of Sik Graham from the Pumas. The Great Britain keeper is slowly mounting a case as the game’s best keeper at Bannerman Shield level after notching up averages of 39, 41 and 43 in his only three seasons in the Shield. Biggest Loss: The shock departure of Hayden Bots to the Stingrays is undoubtedly the greatest loss that the Vipers suffered in the off-season. As the only member of the premiership winning side to leave, there wasn’t much competition here but the fact that no replacement was recruited points to this loss being perhaps a crucial one in the Vipers’ premiership chances. Rookie to Watch: James Hughes is the rookie to watch in this side, if only for the fact that he will be the only rookie in the top grade. The talented allrounder, said to be a little on the simple side by teammates, has been impressing all the right people at the Vipers. Likely Team: 1. JE McGrath 2. JRE Luffman 3. T Delonge 4. J Torres 5. R Gee 6. SLO Graham 7. CJ Devonshire (4) 8. BA Storer (3) 9. JM Hughes (5) 10. BOY Blunder (2) 11. DA Eggman (1) Predicted Finish: 2nd – Given the solid nature of this side, devoid of too many stars, the Vipers promise to be one of the most consistent sides in the comp. Whether they can rise to the challenge of teams like the Ravens and Gamblers remains to be seen.
It remains to be seen. I am tipping that they will. How is that a joke? You've also got to bear in mind that I did your review before Bullpitt signed and the Vipers afterwards. You'd probably move up to 2nd if not 1st. Anyway, the predicted finish is a bit of an after thought.
Dunno if I'd call the Vipers devoid of stars given they now have the #1 ranked batsman and the #1 ranked bowler. What they're devoid of is players who have been stars since Season 3, but there's a natural over-emphasis put on that around here sometimes.
