4-1 trial game loss last weekend, 7-0 win today. Including the first goal that I've scored in 361 days.

Grading is a bit retarded though, we won F grade last year and are now in J. The team we played in the first trial is a B grade side and the team we played today are in F. Makes literally no sense.

Had a chance to play div I, grade below highest you can go in canterbury but sadly I am not soccer fit to play lb or rb. Might fuck around in div 4 or sunday league which is as strong as div 2

Need to find a club after my last one disappeared into the ether. And I know no one around these parts who actually plays 11-a-side football. Annoying.

Jabba aren't you like 6'6? Surely you're too big to be a wingback.

6'3 - 6'4, it is the position i play best. Can also play cb but I like going up the field too much

Not technically playing soccer this season but told the captain I'll play some matches if he needs me. I'm either a CB or a CF - prefer CF but often have to play CB because everyone else in the team is puny.

Our season started 2 weeks ago but I havent been able to play because of a broken foot. Not sure if I'll be playing div1 or 2 when I get back but div 1 had drawn 3 all in the 1st 2 and div 2 lost both 6-0 and 4-1

1-0 win to start the proper season. Probably should've been yellow carded for one tackle but played well otherwise.

Also had a chance to take a fall for a penalty but I stayed on my feet. Does anyone here milk that sort of contact or even just plain dive?

  9. MrPrez CM Dyer

I'm less likely to dive in the penalty box than anywhere else really. Once I'm in the penalty box you could smash my head with a mallet and I'd just get back up and try to get a shot in.

I'm generally too busy trying not to trip over the ball or hand possession to the other team tbh.

I've given up for good I think. I just don't enjoy not being able to do what I want to because I'm simply not technically sound enough.

I never dive but I'd quite happily milk contact unless there was a chance to get a shot off.

 I'm lucky in that I've played for something like 19 years straight. If I didn't have some technical ability by now I may as well amputate my feet.

  14. Speirz DG Speirs

I'm fine with this usually if the ball is on the ground. Usually it's just taking advantage of stupid defenders sticking their leg out to a ball they'd never reach.

I hate diving whatever the case, but if you're going to be a gay and dive you might as well cheat somewhere your going to get a definite advantage. Risking a yellow card in the central third especially would be pointless.

  16. MrPrez CM Dyer

I wouldn't dive full-stop, but I'd make a tackle seem somewhat worse than it was if I was pissed. Not in the penalty box though.

  17. Furball G Furball

Works better as a defender, defenders get away with so much diving it's ridiculous.

    Your Football

There is a club cricket thread for cricket you're playing but I can't see a similar thread in here. If there is, I'll just merge them together.

Anyway I have been roped into coaching a Primary School football team until the summer and I think once it starts up again. My friend teaches at the school and all the teachers are female so they had no idea what to do so asked for help. No idea how good they'll be but should be a laugh.

Four wins from four games so far, we're just graded way too low.
