Saw someone of the opinion that United have three of the PL's top five with their acquisition of Mata, and couldn't imagine who they could possibly have left out. Interested to know what everyone here reckons. in order, IMO: Luis Suarez Day Light Sergio Aguero Mesut Ozil Juan Mata Yaya Toure Feels a bit harsh on RVP & Rooney but I couldn't justify them over any of the above. Eden Hazard could come in for Toure on another day, I guess. David Silva and perhaps Vincent Kompany can feel a bit hard done by too.
I'd definitely have RVP over Mata. When Mata was good RVP was even better, and this season when RVP hasn't been great Mata's been even worse. I think I'd take Negredo over Ozil. He's just been so, so much better this season. There's an argument for Silva too.
Using the logic in your first sentence, surely the change to Eds's list you'd make is just Negredo in for Mata then?
Suarez isn't even the best striker in the Premier League, so the idea that there's daylight between Suarez and any other player in the league is ridiculous.
Haha, love how GF uses "striker" to make it sound worse when realistically it's between him and Aguero and no-one else for best player anyway and they're both strikers. He's also wrong though. Shit post really.
Aguero does it against the big teams and has done it at Champions League level. Suarez hasn't. Aguero's been better for longer as well.
So why is it Suarez scores so many more against the mid-table teams than Aguero? As an out-and-out finisher, Aguero is probably one of the best in the world, and definitely the best in the league. But Suarez offers so much more, for me. EDIT: Beaten by Ritchie really. Although Suarez has been the better goalscorer and player this year...
As someone who loathes Suarez and likes Aguero, imo Suarez is the better player. Impossible for me to make a list though really, because it's so hard to rate a midfielder against an attacker or a defender and vice versa.
