Fair enough, couldn't be to bother tbh, I'm always just waiting for the ball to get into open play :p
Yeah but most of them are :p

Oh and inb4 Beast is pretty average.

  3. MrPrez CM Dyer

Yeah Faletau. Him or Read. Spies is useless.

  4. Rego RS Hutchinson

Faletau had a pretty decent World Cup but lacks experience. I'd say Read.

  5. MrPrez CM Dyer

Yep that's what I was thinking now. Faletau will possibly be no1 in the future though.

LOL at people thinking second five and centre are the same!

  7. Henry Marshall H Marshall

By centre do you mean inside centre or outside? Cause if you mean inside centre then second five and inside centre are the same thing... They just simply play one outside the Flyhalf.

  8. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

    Inside Centre = 2nd Five-Eighth
    Outside Centre = Centre

  9. Rego RS Hutchinson

    ^^^^^

Nonu is a second five. Smith is a centre. You wouldn't play them the other around either.

  10. Eds E Ames

Why don't you just call it Inside and Outside? :p

  11. Fiery GR Smith

    Because it's not league

  12. Eds E Ames

    What's your point?

  13. Rego RS Hutchinson

Half back, first five, second five >>>>>> Scrumhalf, Fly Half, Inside centre, Outside centre

    In other words

    SH > NH

  14. MrPrez CM Dyer

Except that South Africa uses scrumhalf, inside centre, outside centre etc ;)

  15. Fiery GR Smith

It's not really a hard point to get but I'll try:

League centres are referred to as Inside or Outside...although this means jack shit really in that sport. The centres do the same job and you might as well just call them left and right centres. It's different in rugby union because the two positions are quite different in terms of their roles and skillsets required...and it's also nice to differentiate ourselves from the riff raff by calling them something different ;)

  16. Eds E Ames

They're really not that different. Any professional 12 or 13 can generally play in the other to a strong standard. Granted, there is some differentiation needed, but it really isn't that important.

    I'd much prefer a 12 at 13 than a winger, for example.

  17. Fiery GR Smith

12's are expected to be able to kick more than 13s. 13s to be able to tackle better. A generalisation and it's interchangeable of course but more of a difference than league

  18. Rego RS Hutchinson

Yeah but SA is a shit cunt of a country anyway so

    SH > NH + SA

    Pretty much proves my point.

  19. Eds E Ames

    :fp:

  20. SmellyStuff MP Chung

For what it's worth, I use the NH position names rather than the SH names. Hell, pretty sure even Australia uses scrumhalf/flyhalf/IC/OC rather than HB/FF/SF/Centre
