Fair enough, couldn't be to bother tbh, I'm always just waiting for the ball to get into open play Yeah but most of them are Oh and inb4 Beast is pretty average.
By centre do you mean inside centre or outside? Cause if you mean inside centre then second five and inside centre are the same thing... They just simply play one outside the Flyhalf.
Half back, first five, second five >>>>>> Scrumhalf, Fly Half, Inside centre, Outside centre In other words SH > NH
It's not really a hard point to get but I'll try: League centres are referred to as Inside or Outside...although this means jack shit really in that sport. The centres do the same job and you might as well just call them left and right centres. It's different in rugby union because the two positions are quite different in terms of their roles and skillsets required...and it's also nice to differentiate ourselves from the riff raff by calling them something different
They're really not that different. Any professional 12 or 13 can generally play in the other to a strong standard. Granted, there is some differentiation needed, but it really isn't that important. I'd much prefer a 12 at 13 than a winger, for example.
12's are expected to be able to kick more than 13s. 13s to be able to tackle better. A generalisation and it's interchangeable of course but more of a difference than league
For what it's worth, I use the NH position names rather than the SH names. Hell, pretty sure even Australia uses scrumhalf/flyhalf/IC/OC rather than HB/FF/SF/Centre
