ggwp Warrington At least I redeemed myself partially by continuing to dominate with du Toit in doubles.
Didn't realise that I'd finally found a decent partner in Martyn, now that I've sent Regan packing we've actually started to win a few games. Any chance of there being training, whether that be long-term or a one-off skill boost Mariner? I'm seriously regretting my stats as I thought it mean I'd just hit slow second serves over as opposed to double faulting every second ball

Finals Ginger Furball has won his first singles title in the cool sunset overlooking Dubai, somewhat dominantly beating Kiwi Joshua Ritchie in two sets. The Scotsman's serving game had noticeably improved from his last outing, gaining much more control over the second serve, even if the first was a little wild at times. He'd evidently been listening to the massive rages coming up from the commentary boxes. It took a while for either player to actually settle into the match, both racking up the errors in quite a tense start. Furball practically shut down his errors four games in, allowing him to take control and not look back. It was not all fun and games for the victor though, in the second set the poor serves returned, giving Ritchie a break to make it 2-0, and another one in the next game to make it 3-1. Furball battled back though with some superb open play to take the title and 500 ranking points, sure to give him some more recognition in the next tournament he plays in. Earlier on in the day, Heath Davis & Truman Lee added to their trophy collection by edging out consistent duoWes Welker & Gareth Weaver. The Davis serve was a point of pressure throughout the match, many games were decided by subtle changes in speed and spin resulting in mistimed shots going into the net. Welker + Weaver looked at their best in the first set, but dropped off considerably compared to their usual standard, even though they pushed right to the end of the other two sets before giving in. That's not to undermine the winning team's performance though, as they did very well to come back after that start, but really if the losers had kept it up we most likely would have seen a different result.
