Well that was shit! Epic singles match but terrible in the doubles

  2. 99* JJ Ritchie

    Ah yeah into the semis.

Sorry Himmy, can't focus on doubles when I've got my own glory to worry about.

I'll still be cheering you on from the sidelines with my pom poms, but lets try and win the next doubles tourney. We're due a good performance now.

  5. Fungus K Fung

Wow, dominated in my first two matches ever. Straight sets and losing only 9 games from the two matches.

  6. Alex AJ O'Driscoll

Better keep it up for Davis Cup.

  7. Magrat Garlick M Garlick

Doubles specialist. Surely I'll catch a break in singles soon.

    Rotterdam - Semifinals

Andrew James is through to the first final of his career, beating Ivan Ryabovol in three sets. Ryabovol trailed from the get go, having early problems with his serve to hand James a break on a plate, which was duly taken. James remained in control for the rest of the set, though he did make quite a few errors, handing his opponent needless points, not that it really mattered at that point. Going into the second set, Ryabovol showed why he's second in the world at the moment to turn the tables and put James under the cosh a little with two consecutive breaks, before he was broken before he could take an impressive victory in the set. The third was stalemate, until a couple more double faults from the Queenslander allowed James to pop through two easy points under pressure to advance. He'll play Bruce Force, who ended a very promising tournament for Truman Lee, who will be disappointed to go out in such an easy fashion to the world #11. In the doubles, it was two straight sets wins, firstly English pair Jordan Logan & Jonny Ridd pushed Reagan Wheelson & Os du Toit to two tiebreaks, not making anything easy for them. However the new pairing of Wheelson/du Toit was too much for them when it really mattered. They'll be matched up against Wes Welker & Gareth Weaver, who also required a tiebreak to win their match.

Tough call, but I think Welker and Weaver are missing just a bit to take this all the way.

Awesome effort for du Toit and I to make the finals in such a close match. Hopefully our next win will be in more convincing fashion ;)

    Brasil Semifinals

Alistair Son is through to his first final, beating surprise of the tournament Charlie Downes in two sets. It was pretty simple stuff for Son, who didn't need to do much at all in the first set to ease past Downes, even with his recent improvement in form. The second was a bit more of a challenge for Son, as Downes' resilience showed as Son just couldn't break him, no matter how many points were won by Son Downes got more on his serve. Downes held out until the last possible opportunity, until disappointingly he succumbed to the pressure, giving Son the game with the last shot of the match. The pair faced off again in the doubles, and it was even worse for Downes. Son and partner Brett Hall whittled through their opponents in just over an hour to reach the final. They will take on Chad Dyer & Marcuss Deane, who only just resisted a comeback from Samuel Vimes & Samuel Yates. The Samuels had all the momentum in the last set, and it was looking like they would win the match the way it was going until Deane and Dyer broke them out of nowhere at all. Joshua Ritchie got through in the last match of the day, defeating Kelvin Fung in style in three sets. Despite having a high error count, Ritchie more than made up for it with the winners that he hit, Fung just didn't know where the ball was going at times. The Kiwi's placement of the ball was outstanding, and he can go into tomorrow's final feeling very confident.
