Watched the game inside the Millenium Stadium today, along with 60,000 Welsh fans. Was a great atmosphere and an enjoyable game IMO. Red card decision spoiled it somewhat, worthy of a yellow but no more IMO. Still, Wales would've won if they could kick ffs.
How does this make any sense? Dropping someone is far less dangerous than holding them and potentially driving them into the ground.
We are Australians, we live upside down compared to the rest of the world, gravity probably works differently for the French.
If you let go you have no control over how they land. If you lift someone up it is your responsibility to bring them down safely, not just let go and hope for the best.
After watching the replays, I cannot see how you can argue he dropped him on his back. It may not have been his head, but it definitely looked a lot closer to the area around the neck, which is still a lot more dangerous than just landing on your back. The only thing I don't like about the decision is it gives the Wales supporters/France haters an excuse. Wales had plenty of opportunities to win it even with 14 men. They just didn't convert their chances.
Would have been awesome to be there, other than for the sending off and the end, when the penalty was just short.
AWTA. Everyone saying it wasn't a bad tackle. Out him in a heaps dangerous position. Was similar to the BOD tackle off the ball that nealry fucked his career.
It was definitely a yellow but in the context of the game and the tournament he shouldn't give a red card for an offense like that. The thought of Wales having to compete with one hand tied behind their back for 60 minutes took something away from the match. It's pretty special how Wales came back after the break and looked by far the better team though. They probably should have won the game with the chances they had. I hope the ABs/Australia absolutely smash France next week.
FMD, if it was Schalk Burger or Bakkies Botha who made that tackle all you cunts would be calling for a life ban ffs.
The argument that he shouldn't have sent Warburton off because of the type of game is retarded. A red card offence is a red card offence no matter when you fucking do it.
If that's a red card, then why isn't it a red card when you take someone out in the line out. They'd be falling from a much higher height than Clerc was. I just want consistency and that wasn't the first tackle like this in this tournament; other similar tackles have been yellowed or not censured at all. Red card massive overreaction.
