    Team:
    1. Vijay
    2. Fulton
    3. Trott
    4. Du Plessis
    5. McCullum
    6. P. Patel +
    7. Hall
    8. Philander
    9. Thomas
    10. Shah
    11. Birch

    12. S.Patel
    13. C.Martin
    14. D.Jacobs
    15. Vallie
    16. Dry
    17. Papps

At this point I really don't think there's much up for debate wrt this line-up. Which kind of scares me and makes me think our depth is poor. Only possibillity I could see is Patel for Hall, but it really doesn't appeal to me.

as much as I don't rate him, papps will be sneaky good in this imo.

  3. Arheiner SIA Yates

Basically why he was picked, there's no reason why he shouldn't be a solid opening option for injuries/shunting.

Plus he'd be a fine seconds player.

  4. Athlai JJD Heads

    Also an emergency keeper.

  5. Hunter AD Hunt

So this team is pretty much South Africa + New Zealand, right?

  6. Arheiner SIA Yates

8 Saffas, 4 NZers. And I wasn't responsible for 2 of the NZ picks.

    Let's not point fingers now

A lot of South Africans in the team, but being the only SAer in the draft simply lent itself to knowing more about the FC scene here than most. I feel like the only saffers in my team that might not be seemingly strong picks are there because they'll be strong in the future (Vallie, Dry, Piedt) and besides, they're doing well atm enough to by fair back-up if required.

Don't really see much weakness in the team, but I also feel that there isn't an area where we stand out as elite. While I feel our international experience will help our batting to be solid enough, our bowling is tough to predict for me. Obviously Philander is quality, but Birch/Thomas/Shah is tough to judge. I don't think it'll be that bad, but it could end up just being average.

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

Spin. Is a weakness of about half the sides though.

  10. MrPrez CM Dyer

Well, yeah. I don't see it as a major weakness as such because I don't feel Shah is all that much weaker than the spinners of most. Also I don't feel like many teams will choose spin-friendly pitches because of the general lack of world-class spinners.

  11. Speirz DG Speirs

Ah. So this explains why he wants Lyon.

Trott officially gonna be playing for Warwickshire. Great news.

Piedt, Birch and Yasir all absolutely cleaning up this week in domestic cricket.

Good to see Shah and Yasir doing well.. Their performances are spookily similar.

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

Haha I meant Piedt instead of one of those Yasir Shah variations.

    Piedt is SA cricket's messiah.

Who you wanted to get rid of..

The Messiah must leave us so that he can return in the future to defeat the enemy.
