Haha Lukic, you're so dumb. Do you even think these things through before you write them? Who do you think signed all those good players? How do you think they managed to build a quality squad while changing manager every two years? How much of their squad remained the same for seven straight years?

Next season: Sunderland start a seven-year title-winning streak after randomly chancing on a good squad. Because that's exactly how football works.

In fact Lacombe was the first manager in Lyon's cycle. He was so good at signing players that he was moved upstairs into a job where he wouldn't be sacked for losing 3 games in a row.

It's because they actually watch them. You can't expect to go at relegation-worthy form for a 38 game + period and not be worried about your job. Particularly not when you had one of the best young strikers in the world for half that time and you're a club aiming for mid-table.

Ugh, meant it more in comparison to the rest of the league than anything. Lyon being the only French team to progress from the Champions league group stage from their run of 7 successive titles bar I think one or two seasons where a team got through definitely is a credit to the quality of the Lyon squad built also an indicator to the lacking quality of their competition. Most of it would come down to Lyon's own management but Ligue 1's lacking opposition was also a factor.

Even though, with that said, there's examples of teams falling apart when their manager departs. It does depend on the system in place, but to suggest that the manager doesn't factor into the stability of the club is ludicrous.

    AVB sacked

    allardryce next.

  8. 99* JJ Ritchie

    Jesus that's a bit rough.

  9. Furball G Furball

It really isn't. Unless you consider moving backwards from where they were 2 years ago and being awful in 90% of their matches this season as being acceptable.

Sullivan's said they will only sack him at the end of the season if they do

Especially with the money spent on the squad after Bale's departure... even if they weren't his decisions

Still wouldn't have been sacked if not for the drubbing though

They're 7th. Only 5 points off 4th and it's not even January yet.

By your logic Moyes should be gone from ManU as well.

  12. Furball G Furball

    Nope. Moyes needs time.

Spurs have gone backwards in the 18 months AVB has been there.

  13. Eds E Ames

    Guess who.

Malky Mackay has been sacked as Cardiff City manager after a meeting of the club's board of directors.

    Laudrup's a gonner.

  18. Riddy JH Ridd

    surprised.

I'm not. Swansea have been seeking under the crap radar for ages.

Interesting to do it before the derby though. Could just fire the player ups like it did for Sunderland last season and earlier in this one.

Hmm, I didn't mind Laudrup. We haven't had a horrible season either, not great but it wasn't bad enough to dump him imo. Interesting to see who we bring in now though.
