He probably will be a bench player when he comes back unless he can take the 6 spot away from Fardy (which is unlikely because he can't jump in the lineout).

 

Watched the game a second time, Toomua is effective defensively in the 2nd 5 position but can only offer strategic kicking offensively. Doesn't run hard enough or elusively enough to be a centre. He needs to work on his goal kicking as he is quality at most aspects of the fly half position.

 

The AB coaches have reacted to the loss by saying we will not change our strategy. Instead we will focus on making even less mistakes than we made on Saturday and continue to bide our time waiting for errors.

Not much to say about the game. NZ were determined to make amends for last week. Australia took a bad yellow card and got hammered with the man advantage. After that we had too big a lead and could afford to play expressively which led to more points.

 

Not great entertainment so far.
