Is Nicklas Bendtner possibly the worst player to ever grace the English Premier League? Quite possibly.

Some of CricSim's non-football fans might be wondering just who exactly is this fabled Nicklas Bendtner? Well, to tell you the truth; nobody gives a shit about him, but here's the deal: Nicklas Bendtner is a 21 year old striker who plays for Arsenal FC in the Premier League. He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Like many Arsenal fans, I was very hopeful about the so-called "Danish Prodigy" when he was coming through our youth system. He made his first team debut at the tender age of 17 and was touted as the next Thierry Henry - apparently possessing great composure and a slick finish.

As we have come to realise over the past several seasons, he possesses anything but.

One might argue that he has not obtained a full opportunity to establish himself at Arsenal and still has a long way to go to improve himself. While the latter is blatantly obvious, the former is incorrect. Bendtner has had ample opportunities to prove himself to the neutrals and the Arsenal faithful alike, especially this season with the extensive injuries of Arsenal's other three strikers - Robin Van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Eduardo.

The fact of the matter is that Bendtner possessed minor skill at a very young age which caused him to be severely overrated by Arsene Wenger, Arsenal FC and, consequently, the selectors for the Danish national football team.

Bendtner is a player with no composure in front of goal. More often than not, you will see him miss sitters or penalties and you'll wonder what he is doing at a famously successful club like Arsenal.

If you think his composure is bad, don't get me started on his first touch. At a club that has seen some real quality strikers come through its ranks, I'm speechless at times when I see what Bendtner is doing on the field to single-handedly ruin chances with his horrendous first touch of the ball.

Finishing is an essential skill of any striker. However, this seems to be a skill that Bendtner lacks. Don't ask me why he was given a 5 year contract at Arsenal in 2007 after showing absolutely nothing aside from absolutely diabolical finishing. I'd link you to another YouTube video of him, but I think it's unnecessary at this point in time to do so any further.

Sometimes I don't know if I should laugh at Nicklas Bendtner and the fact that he's considered an EPL-quality striker, or cry because that so-called "EPL-quality" striker is in fact playing on a weekly basis for the club I support.

Nicklas Bendtner is a ****ing mess and should not be seen anywhere near the red of Arsenal Football Club.

Compared to the shit strikers I have had to witness like Darius Vassell, Benjani, Corradi, Samaras etc etc. Bendtner is ****ing quality.

Bramble marking Bendtner would be real epic.

I don't rate the guy massively but he's only 21.
This season he's made 47 appearances and scored 14 goals in all competitions. Add in 4 assists, and contributes more than once every 3 appearnces. Considering a great deal of these would have been as a substitute it becomes more impressive.
Criticising the lad and getting on his back is no good for anyone, as long as he's an arsenal player he'll have my support, yeah it's frustrating when he misses chances like he did against united (header late on) but you have to realise by putting faith in the lad i'm sure he'll come to repay us. I mean how many times has wenger been wrong??

    Quite a few times...

Lol, nice loyalty, but you cant deny hes shit... he may be a decent player for one of the teams facing relegation, but hes no way up to being classed as Arsenals reserve striker.

  20. Baxter MJ Deane

Better than Macheda, N'gog and Di Santo
and in terms of bringing players from youth -> reserves -> first team i'd like to hear how many mistakes he's made Eds.
