Just one of those players that Cribb (and now MF) has never rated so everyone goes along with him being a hack .... (also because he plays for a club everyone hates). Yes...he's not a brilliant defender but fmd he's a good player.

Cooper Cronk is the prime example of that.

    Couldnt agree more.

And? Doesn't mean either of them should be inTest sides, agreed?

I resent that. I was not rating Stewart way before EWS.:D I seem to recall arguing with Nadyone about him making the Test side in 2008.

Interesting, I wonder how long he's been needing that for.

Stewart is in with a pretty good shout to be playing for Australia, and no doubt at all that he should be in the final squad.

Nah. Merely that even if I granted that Stewart is the better club player (which I don't), Johnson is a much better rep player.

Stewart's attack is far better than Johnson's, no doubt. However, Johnson's defence is far better than Stewart's. And Stewart makes a lot more errors and gives away more penalties. Of course he also offloads more but that hardly makes up for the aforementioned. His creativity does make up for some of it, I'll agree. However, for a player who regularly makes the Test side, and who is a fringe backrower, his metre-age is ordinary.

I think they're on par with each other as club players once you contrast their strengths and weaknesses.
