    AWTA.

I agree but he's at least played one or two decent games off the bench in rep footy. Plus, despite being ordinary in club footy this year, he has actually proven to be the better player over the last 5 years.

What on earth are you basing this on?

Actually, yes it should. Say it's unfair until you're blue in the face if you like. It doesn't change the reality that he hasn't done anything in Origin. You don't pick a side based on what you think Player A might do if given the same chances as Player B, whose already done it.

He had a great 2009 (I believe, his first year with the Dogs). Other than that, he has been far from impressive.

Nah, disagree. His 2010 season was also quite good IMO. Bulldogs best prop by far.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if McGuire makes the QLD side over Hannant next year.

    Still his best position.

Don't have an issue DCE being picked, if he doesn't actually play (i.e he's just there to be with the group and gain some experience of the whole thing, rather than play... Sort of like Lewis did with NSW before he got a go).

Is McGuire even eligible for Queensland next year?

  9. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well, Mal has already dropped Hannant once.

    He should be.

Picking McGuire would be such puss. I mean yeah, he's shown he can rack up big numbers but he's only been doing it for half a season, if that.

Stats and Tape. He has a higher metres per run than the other two.
Also, just watching him you can tell he runs with much more force and can provide impact that the others can't.

Yeah and it really showed when he averaged 5m per run for NSW. As opposed to Hannant and Mannah who average well above that.

When Galloway comes on for NSW and makes 120m from 13 runs like Hannant has, or runs for 80m from 8 runs like Mannah has then maybe I'll agree with you.

Galloway is a slightly above average club prop. That's it. Not in the same league as Mannah or Hannant at all IMO and it was indicative of NSW's dearth of props (and the selectors' reluctance to actually pick good ones) that he played Origin. Really didn't think he'd make the Test squad unless the Tigers fluked the premiership but well Sheens is coach I guess.

It annoys me that Myles has been blacklisted. Would be gun if the prop rotation was Gallen, Scott, Shillington and Myles IMO. Oh well, all the better for England I guess. I just hate seeing such shit selections plaguing international rugby league; it's one of the biggest reasons it isn't taken as seriously as it should be.

It's welllllll behind the biggest reason though, which is the fact there's 3 decent teams, and every other one is shit.

I don't see why few quality teams should make it not taken seriously though, if matches are typically organised between those three teams...

Even though he has been shit all season, Jennings would have been a better selection than Williams.
