Fuck the conference system is shit, if the Lions beats the Jags, the top NZ team will be 2nd and have to play 7th which will either be the Saders or Landers.....in some ways coming 5th (2nd in NZ conference) is safer as Brumbies away is easier imo.

I feel gutted. The Chiefs were the better team but we just got out coached yet again. Rennie is a player development coach only and needs someone else to run things on game day. I mean he is the best player development coach I have ever seen, but yeah...well. Where I think the game was lost is that Landers played possum, they kept Pryor and one or two other key players on the bench and brought them on fresh in the second half and while we seemed to a) run out of gas and b) be reluctant to bring on our replacements even if they were quality people like Donald.
Now I'm hoping the Jags beat the Lions and by more than 7 points so we play the Sharks in the quarters rather than the Saders.
Who cares, the only way the Saders beat you is if they draw upon their years and years and years and years of playoff experience and devise better game day tactics than you. I don't see Riche Mo'unga rising to the occassion to lead that. Still they will perform better than this last effort. The addition of Whitelock and Ellis will be huge to them. Especially ellis from a play making POV.
I'd still pick the win but would rather have an easier game - also Lions losing and no BP means we finish first so home run for all games provided we win them. Already got my group sorted for the quarter, can't wait. I know I've said and others have said that last year was our chance and we definitely had a better squad but this year we've actually been tested and have had a tough last 5 games which we won all of them - injuries have happened and we've still been able to gain the wins. I reckon this year now that we have a nice run to the finals (home advantage), could be our year. Need Proctor back to full health and Laumape not injured.
Leave Bird behind, maybe even Cruden and move McKenzie to 10 - it's a risk though and can't see them doing it.

I reckon we very well could have an all NZ semis - ironically the same as this weekend. (1) Hurricanes v (8) Sharks - Canes should get the job done (2) Lions v (7) Crusaders - This will be the best match of the round imo, Lions could very well do it at home but I'm going to say Saders if they get their shit sorted (3) Stormers v (6) Chiefs - Chiefs should win this one (4) Brumbies v (5) Highlanders - Highlanders get the 2nd easiest quarters imo, should get the job done Which means semis will look like: (1) Canes v (7) Saders - Saders will be zonked with the travel, Canes should do it at home (5) Highlanders v (6) Chiefs - Once again the travel kills the Chiefs, Landers win Meaning the final will be a repeat of last year. Saders and the Chiefs get fucked over by having to travel to SA and can't see them getting any further than the semis.
