    I remember slating the re-signing of Edwards on here a few years ago, thought it was odd given they had Staines waiting in the wings (literally) given all the hype there was around him. So he's definitely done a lot better than I ever imagined but I think a lot of it has to be put down to playing for the Panthers, his strength is his running game and kick returns which with how ridiculously good Penrith's defence is, it's a walk in the park. Nearly every kick is coming from the oppositions half so there's no pressure, you've got 10-20 free metres on almost every return because so many of the kicks are clearing kicks.

    He does his role really well though and I'm with you I think there's an element of balance there that can be important when you've got Yeo, Korisua & Cleary already in the team that you don't need anything more than a running fullback.

    I definitely don't think it's mental that he's 4th in line for NSW though, he's not that good and it's not like he's unfortunate to be playing in the wrong era. I think he'd be lucky to be in an era where he was anything more that 4th choice tbh.

    Likely, but for example if Teddy is out, NSW have so many centres they can bring in. Moving Latrell or Trbo to 1 instead of Edwards is smarter as they can bring in Burton and Wighton to play in the centres.

    How many times do you lot need to be dead wrong (often by your own admission) about these fullbacks; Stewart, Tedesco v Moylan, Edwards, Boyd etc before maybe thinking twice about whether you know wtf you're on about with the no1 in the first place. Its lolworthy.

    Who do you think would improve a team more if they were signed to play fullback.

    For example, Dogs have a putrid fullback, so out of Latrell, Trbo and Edwards, who would improve them more?

    Dont recall saying Edwards is better than either of them.

    Saying you'd consider playing Hynes and Drinkwater ahead of Edwards is absurd imo, especially given the rest of the spine is Penrith/ex-Penrith.

    This whole conversation on Edwards was about you saying it's mental he was 3rd or 4th in line for NSW. I mentioned the people ahead of him.

    Drinkwater and Hynes are absolutely better players than Edwards, and the only thing keeping Edwards in the conversation with them would be the Penrith connection. If Edwards plays for the Titans, he isn't in the discussion.

    That was a commentary on how many good fullbacks NSW have. Not a suggestion that Edwards should be higher up the totem poll. Not my fault if you guys misunderstood.

    The argument you keep making is ridiculous. Hynes and Drinkwater play for top 4 sides as well. They wouldnt be in any Origin discussion playing at Wests or whoever either.

    They make them top 4 sides. Where were the Sharks before Hynes? How were Cowboys doing with Hammer at fullback? If Edwards replaced them, both sides would decline.

    No one has misunderstood, no one has said you think he should be higher.
    You started with saying he's 3rd or 4th in line, other people have said he's lower than that.

    If your point is NSW have lots of good fullbacks, then everyone is agreeing.
    We're just also saying there's lots of good fullbacks who are more good than Edwards.


    I would also argue that by saying Edwards is 3rd, you're at least implying that he's better than one of Latrell or Turbo.

    It's clear what Gemmell was implying with that stupid question. Not my problem if he cant read.

    And Im not implying anything of the sort. I just stated the exact opposite that both Latrell and Turbo are better. Theres no way I'd move either of them from centre tho. Never rated the other centre options NSW have. And its perfectly logical to play Edwards in the scenario where Cleary, Luai and Koroisau would be the spine.

    Ranking Edwards at 3rd isnt entirely my opinion. Its where I think he'd likely be ranked by Fittler. Hence why I said 'he's probably third in line.' But again, the lack of comprehension on here is depressing.

    Right it's clearly our lack of comprehension.

    That post clearly says

    Specifically, this is significant because of the lack of good centres, something I will never mention and then scoff that people don't understand that's what I meant.

    Also, if you're not moving Turbo or Latrell from centres, And would play Edwards instead.
    Then it seems like you think he should be 2nd in line...
