    The story so far:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y9_P5GW2k_w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The year is 20 BBY. Year 980 after the Ruusan Reformation, Year 3633 after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, Year 16 of the Great Re-Synchronization.

Luke and Leia Skywalker have been born on the planet of Polis Massa. The mother, Padme Amidala, kept strong as her husband Anakin Skywalker remained by her side. However, the young twins have still been moved to their homes with the Lars family and the Organa family, respectively. They are both force-sensitive, and both have massive potential, but for now, they are vulnerable, and must be kept alive. The young boy, in particular, is vital to the success of the Light.

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has broken up the Republic and formed a new Empire, where the leader is head for life. He has named himself as the first Emperor, and has legalized the extermination of the Jedi. However, the Jedi Council remains strong on Coruscant, headed by Grand Master Yoda.

The Sith have once again reared their ugly head as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi duelled now Sith Lord, Darth Tyranus, also known as Count Dooku, after it was discovered that Dooku had kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine. The outcome was not favourable for either side, as all parties escaped. Dooku’s master is not yet known, however, the Jedi are sure that he is not the ruler of the Sith. However, it is known that he heads the Separatist movement alongside the likes of Droid Commander and Jedi Hunter General Grievous.

Balance in the Force is difficult to maintain in times such as this, but those on the Light must defeat all those that are a threat to the innocent.

The objective of those on the Light is to eliminate all those that provide a threat to the Jedi and restore peace to the galaxy.

Those allied with the Dark aim to have 50% of the lynch votes, or more, at any point in time.

    Rules
    1. Lynch votes must be bolded: e.g. lynch Eds. Other variants such as kill or vote are not allowed. You must unlynch before voting to lynch someone else.
    2. You must make at least one post every day unless you have a valid excuse. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Do it a second consecutive day and you will be mod-killed, and/or replaced.
    3. Days will last 48 hours. For a lynch, a member must reach >50% of the eligible members' lynchvotes. If this does not occur within the 48 hours, a no lynch will occur.
    4. Nights will last 24 hours (or until all night orders have been completed) and days will last as long as I see fit. You will be informed as to when night has begun.
    5. Do not speak about this game outside of the thread unless your role specifies that you may, or I have specifically said otherwise. Not following this will result in being mod-killed. Any outside communication, if your role does allow, must be kept in your specific QT.
    6. Do not quote anything from the moderator that is said outside of this thread such as role PM's or pretend to quote anything from the moderator.
    7. Please do not edit posts. Do not delete either.
    8. Once you are dead you may not post, unless otherwise specifically stated.
    9. Have fun and be respectful to your fellow players. Remember that it's just a game.
    10. Night-talking is allowed, and encouraged.

    Advice
    - This game is very complicated. Making assumptions based on previous mafia games is likely to be to your detriment rather than actually help you (seriously).
    - Read up more information on your role and character. It could be a good idea to do this as it allows you to plan potential strategies based on what your character could become. Also consider how you wish to play your role – some roles require plenty of thought in order to be played well.
    - Remember that character claiming will be to your detriment (in the majority of cases). There are lots of people that want you dead. In some extreme cases, it will actually the town more that you are lynched rather than a mafia objective is achieved. Keep that in mind. Also remember, that with the new Bounty Hunter game mechanic, you’re very likely to be picked off by a Bounty Hunter, if you do claim a character. I’ve also given some people really quite random characters, and missed out several of the more powerful characters, in order to further stop random character claims.
    - Be careful in those you trust.
    - We’re essentially starting midway through Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith, although I've altered the reality of the beginning of the film. Think of this as an alternate ‘ending’ to the prequel trilogy and a replacement of the original trilogy.
    - Keep in mind that the Extra Objectives do matter, particularly in determining an MVP. This is completely contrary to how it was in Skippos’ Doctor Who mafia.

    New Game Mechanics
    - Strength System
This is essentially an expansion of the Level System from the first edition. It’s far more complex now, and it’s important to consider when deciding your night orders. Each member, in your role PM, will have a Base Strength and an Effective Strength. Effective Strength affects the chance of you successfully surviving a night attack, or similar. Some characters strength will change as time goes on. It’s probably best to research your character and find out if you think this will happen to you.
    - Activity Influence
In order to promote activity in the thread, you will be rewarded for your activity in the form of potential Effective Strength increases. This won’t make a massive difference, although may be the difference between life and death, on occasion.
    - Items
Each member is able to collect items. Items are able to enhance your character, and in most cases will boost your strength, resulting in an Effective Strength. Items will not always affect your strength – in some cases, they may give you a handy bonus, or a new ability. Note that each item varies, and only the owner of the item will know what said item does (eg. A lightsaber of Mace Windu would be more powerful than that of Agen Kolar). It’s probably worth thinking about what your character should/could/can carry. If you’re not force sensitive, then a lightsaber will have no effect, for example. And only strong Jedi can perform combat with two lightsaber – maybe have a Google of whether you believe your character can or not.
    - Credits
Each member starts the game with 1000 credits. Some will value these credits more so than others, as is the reality of the Star Wars universe. These credits can be transferred between players, at night. Consider carefully how you can use these credits, and who will value them more than others. You are also able to transfer credits from player to player- simply PM me the amount of credits you wish to send, and how many (during the day-phase only) and the amount will be transferred during the night phase.
    - Bounty Hunters
I’ve created a new system which massively adds realism to the game itself. The Bounty Hunters, instead of simply defending Jabba the Hutt, are in it for the money. At any point during the day, you are able to set a bounty on any member’s head. You can do this by sending me a Private Message with the member you wish to target, as well as the credits you are willing to give to the Bounty Hunter who successfully achieves the goal. The Bounty Hunter(s) will then be told of any bounties that are created, and will be able to take them up. If they successfully kill the target, after taking up the bounty, the credits will be transferred automatically. Keep in mind the Bounty Hunters are also able to protect a member overnight, not just kill them. You are also able to Private Message me requesting a member be protected by a Bounty Hunter (you must also name a price).

wow, awesome. gonna have to re read that a few times for it to fully sink in :)

  4. Cribbage RG Cribb

That's an awesome idea. I actually suspect that it's probably largely a bluff, but the bluff could well work anyway. Kudos for addressing that issue.

  5. Raide KN Rask

Still planning to wait until the last 4 Cribb? :p

  6. morgieb MC Burridge

    And so the Wars continue....

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

Anyway, it seems as if Eds has set the game in the period between Episode III and Episode IV. Pretty awesome IMO as I always felt they probably could've made that into another movie to properly address the Clone Wars and that little gap in Star Wars history.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

Also, FoS on Mousey. Sithest cunt.

  9. Ari PM Jackson

This is going to be good!

    seriously?

Yoda in exile and Obi Wan making sure Luke grew up without hinderance, not sure where they would have fitted another film in, unless you want to see the empire slowly taking control, but cant see there being much action.

Just read through all the game mechanics.

I love you Eds - this is going to be a great game again I think.

Would've been better than that Clone Wars shit, at least. And certainly there's a lot of money to be made out of Star Wars.

  13. Ari PM Jackson

The hunting down of all the remaining Jedi who survived the initial Order 66.

  14. morgieb MC Burridge

Hopefully it'll be better than the way LotR ended up :p

Yeah, there\'s a few books around that time which are probably decent indicators of why there\'d never be movie set in that time period. They\'re all fairly slow-paced and uneventful compared to the quite grand scale of all the other movies.

The main characters would've had to be largely different, but there's a lot of untold story there I reckon. They made two animated series centred around that timeframe I think (I never watched them though) so I reckon a movie could've been made.

Star Wars, when observed from an Episode I to Episode VI standpoint, is essentially about the tragedy of Anakin Skywaker. There's still a bit of that story to tell I reckon - of how he got to the newly converted mangled mess we see at the end of the Episode III to what we see in Episode IV.

Anyway, irrelevant to this game. :p

  17. Speirz DG Speirs

The animated series are set between II and III.

  18. Eds E Ames

I'd think there's far more scope for movies between II and III, than III and IV, personally.

  19. morgieb MC Burridge

Wasn't that the Clone Wars series/movie though?

  20. Riddy JH Ridd

    deffo awta
so you essentially wanna see an operation on Anakin to see how he turned into darth vader? :p
