I'll back anyone against Canterbury. That said, the Naki look to have a fairly leaky defence. Would not be surprised to see the Cantabs walk away with the Log o' Wood.
Haha did anyone else know that the Ranfurly Shield holder can put it up for grabs in away matches if they choose to? Would be gun if it happened every now and then in the modern game.
It has in recent years in pre-season friendlies against Heartlands teams, as I recall. Though this year, Taranaki played their Heartlands fixtures at home.
Yeah I obviously want the Naki to win (can't stand it when Cunterbury has the shield) On paper it has to be said, Canterbury are a better side. Gotta have faith though. eek.
I am putting $5 on the naki as I think they will want it more - Cantabs don't give a crap about the shield. New Plymouth is a good New Zealand city. has there ever been a year that canterbury hasnt had a chellenge or at least a scheduled challenge against the team who starts the season with it? to mer at least it seems they alwaysget a challenge, kinda be nice if we could go a season where canterbury, waikato, auckland cant get their hands on it. getting pretty sick of those first two holding it aye
