Update: 80 mins Izett makes an ok throw but McGrath recovers it well. He taps it back for Luffman and the Spartans run a back move. Borisc ends up with it after amazing play from Orr. He passes it out to Wilson. He makes decent ground before he is taken down by Alessi. The Spartan cover gets there well and M Deane has just rucked it against at least 3 Giants ruckers. Superb play.
Luffman goes on his own but gets taken down by Parker at the ruck. Wilkinson has a pick and go now, and makes a few yards before being taken down by Dafter. O’Driscoll almost turned that over but Deane got there well and saved it. Luffman passes it out to Scoble who pops it to BOY Blunder who is bombing it at some pace. BOOM! Golding has just mowed Blunder down and Blunder has knocked it on.
AP Farnsworth has moved to wing and C Kovas has come on to play 13 with DA Alessi making way. A Shreyas has also come on for DA Eggman. RG Cribb feeds the ball in and Flack has hooked it well after a strong push from O’Driscoll. Gemmell holds it at his feet for a while before picking and going, and the Giants forwards hold him in.
Luffers to do a Johnny and go for a drop goal. Last minute . Although it would have to be Scoble as he's at 10
Ames receives the ball from Cribb and gives it to Golding who is coming on at extreme pace. But he is shielded well and the Spartans have got him down. The ref calls last play, and we all know what Luffman did before. Ames does exactly the same and kicks it out. What a match. The final score is 14-12 to the Giants with the Man of The Match Award going to RG Cribb for being instrumental, and just tipping Ames to the award.
Was a great match, both sides really fought hard but Giants got away with the win. Our first defeat but we should learn from it
