Quite. I can understand why they've signed him, but it will be pretty shit for one of their rookie front rowers to end up in the back row and sucking all season long.
Never any harm having contention for spots. If Frizzed was to move on then I have good cover now and if not I can always just omit the least active player. I see no issue with it.
You can't sign more than 30 until every other team has 30. So, until then - if Frizzed signs - you have to play a front rower elsewhere. There's no way every team is going to have 30 contracted players by the start of the season, so rather than getting a filler who would be able to play back row, you'll have a prop/hooker filling in there (in all likelihood) which is neither good for the player, nor the team. Speaking of which, if I can get the last Test simmed tonight, you'll be thrown out of the Gamblers subforum tonight as well as the new season effectively begins at the end of the Test.
It's basically about serious posititional problems that are likely to occur with you having signed for your side.
As I said IF Frizzed signs. If he doesn't there's no problem at all and it's a good signing. Aaron O'Neill Duck Lewis Noah Smith Adam Gloury Benny Read Wes Welker Please Resprain
Yeah \_/ that I'll have to play gloury or GYR out of position in reserves for a few rounds. I have no fg quality hooker so a potential answer is more important than having one bloke out of position in ressies
Hey Heef i got a good question. Since i played a season at hooker when my only position/s is prop, After the season playing at hooker has it became more natural for me to play hooker? or in other words have i became better at playing hooker then i was at the beginning of the year minus the activity?
No. Not at all. Other than the fact that your post rank has improved over the past season so you will have become better in general than before. But this kind of goes back to the suggestion I made a long time ago (between S3 and S4) to allow a small amount of "training" for players between seasons, but that idea was rejected by the masses - as I recall.
Ahh ok thanks for the reply. I was just thinking of it, how players generally get better at a position in real life by playing there more. Yeah i remember that suggestion, i thought it was going to go ahead.
I mean if you looking for realism in a sim, take the Vikings for example. We ran with no real goal kicker for ages, so we had hunt doing it. Realistically, he'd be having extra training sessions to practice. Then we signed HM, who can kick, but he's playing out of position. He'd be having sessions to give him more skills in the centres. Obviously you wouldn't be looking at a massive change, but there definitely a place for it.
