    Nah, I definitely think it's fair enough Australia get no points regardless and NZ get the win. Not questioning that at all. I just think it's a bit rough sometimes without much rep rugby that the team that does the right thing doesn't get to actually experience playing. I remember being pretty disappointed when NSW were due to play Victoria and we didn't get to play because they forfeited; we were probably about a 90%+ chance of winning anyway so not getting to see our team in action was disappointing given we'd named a team on time and, IIRC, I'd named a different sort of side that I was keen to see.

    Truth be told, I probably wouldn't bother simming it if I was you anyway; I'd see it as a) a waste of time with no points on the line and b) pretty unrealistic in a sporting context to schedule the game that's somehow forfeited anyway.

    But I just feel bad for Jabba and the NZ players, because I've been there. Was just suggesting it in case you hadn't thought of it really.

    Well, this much is true, but it is pointless to sim it, and it certainly wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility for Australia to win it, and what if they did?

    I don't want forfeits, but the deadline for team submission was effectively about the 7th January.

    I don't think Australia winning would cause any big dramas; they forfeited so NZ get the points. Just seems wrong for NZ to suffer by not getting the game itself.

    As I said though, perfectly understand if you just think it's a waste or time and don't have any desire to do it. I probably wouldn't do it either; was just spit-balling ways to make this suck a bit less those not at fault really.

    Yeah, you could easily say the same about any forfeit, I guess... But if I pull finger and sim this, then I'm just caving into those shunts who can't do what they're asked to do - and then we're likely to see more forfeits in later rounds.

    Sim the game and just give us NZ stats. That'd be far more annoying as Aus selector than no game at all. :p
