Scrum to the Crabs 25m into their own territory. They've had the bulk of the territory thus far, but can they conjure anything up on the counter?

Phifteenplus spreads the ball to Heads. Heads outpaces McDougal and passes back to Phifteenplus who's still there in support.

10m from halfway now and Phifteenplus passes to Jake Howe to try and smash some cunts out of the way. No dice, and Howe offloads to Hurricane before hitting the deck in a tackle.

Hurricane is brought down by McDougal but Bolt and Brumby dig in to ensure the ball comes out for the Crabs.

A number of Sharks forwards committed here as the Crabs spread the ball wide. Great handling from the Crabby backline here. Speirs cuts inside a gap left by Devonshire and offloads to Phlegm just in from the side line. Phlegm's threaded the gap with skill there. He sidesteps round Hutchinson and has only got to beat Logan.

There's no support for Phlegm and he tumbles over the line as Logan wraps around his legs. Not the best tackle from Logan there, he should have done better. Did Phlegm get the ball down?

YES! That's a first try for the CricketWeb Crabs.

Tough conversion for Somerset, and he misses.

    Sharks 14 - 5 Crabs

Penalty to the Sharks. Easily booted over by Scoble.

    Sharks 17 - 5 Crabs

Another piss-weak try conceded by the Crabs here. A line break from a nothing ball on the half way line sees Chris Devonshire trot through the defensive line unimpeded. No one even lay a hand on him. Heads and Somerset shoot each other a look that says that they each thought the other had him covered.

Looks like the Crabs need to go back to the training field drawing board.

Scoble hits the upright from the conversion.

    Sharks 22 - 5 Crabs

Looks tough for the Crabs here.

Crabs need some injuries/sin binnings to happen.

Regan Hutchinson with the kick in open play. What crap. He's kicked it out on the full when the Sharks were only 20m away from the Crabs' line.

Crabs line out, but James McDougal again makes the steal.

The ball is spread wide as the Sharks attempt the overlap. Chris Devonshire with the ball, but Crossfire Hurricane tackles him. Dong tries to secure the turnover, but is pushed off by Shane Masters. Good support from the Sharks there.

The Sharks press again through Sam Graham, but he's tackled by Jake Howe. Howe knocks the ball out of Graham's hands, but the ball bobbles backwards towards the oncoming Regan Hutchinson. He scoops it up and only has to trot a couple of metres to put the ball down over the line.

Incredibly unlucky for the Crabs there, and another easy conversion for Scoble.

    Sharks 29 - 5 Crabs

A bit of handbags at dawn here as David Dafter taunts Os du Toit after a scrum collapses. A bit of pushing and shoving as the forwards lock horns. Simon Laing's thrown a punch at Jake Howe here and suddenly things are kicking off! Hurricane charges in and smacks Laing with a great right hook. Down he goes! Laing's out for the count before the referee's had a chance to cool things down!

The referee talks with his assistants and brandishes a yellow card at the unconscious Laing. Not sure we'll be seeing him emerge after the half time whistle any way. Let's see the slo-mo replay of that one. Maybe it's time for Hurricane to take on SBW?

The Crabs take advantage of the extra man as Daniel Speirs finds himself an extra bit of space to break into. He dots down in the corner under pressure from Jordan Logan.

    Somerset misses the conversion

    Sharks 29 - 10 Crabs

Nice. Bit of a fight to spice things up.

Paul Oz comes on to make his debut to replace the injured Simon Laing whose yellow card has now expired.

Crabs needed that sin-binning. We should still run away with this game though.

Scoble tackled by Somerset 20m on the Crabs side of the halfway line. Brumby comes in to attempt a steal, but Dafter ensures it comes out on the Sharks' side.

Bakkum straight out to Devonshire. He gains a few yards but passes back in field underpressure from Howe.

Sharks making no gain here. Eventually the ball comes to Dafter who crunches Phifteenplus out the way with ease, gaining 10m.

Green gets the ball, and darts at the line, but gains nothing. The Sharks attempt to spread the ball wide, and Hutchinson gains a good overlap. He's brought down by Phifteenplus just short of the line in a try saving tackle. Unfortunately for the Crabs, Logan is there to clean up the scraps and he darts down the side of the ruck and scores.

Tough conversion for Scoble, but he hits it sweetly.

    Sharks 36 - 10 Crabs

Matthew Scoble has picked up an injury. He will be subbed off. This forces some back line changes for the Sharks.

Hughes comes on for Scoble (Bakkum to 10)
    Witters comes on for Green

    And some normal substitutions:

    Das on for Masters
    Fisher on for Sweetman
    Immanuel on for Astele
    Edwards on for Devonshire

And the Crabs also make some substitutions:

    Teja on for Force
    Martyn on for Howe

Line out to the Sharks only 15m from the Crabs' line. Morris with the throw, but that's far too deep. Geraint Martyn steals at the end of the line out.

He passes to Phifteenplus, onto Ryabovol. He goes for the Grubber! What is he thinking? They're only 20m from their own try line. Bizarre option. And it misses everyone and goes into touch as well. Odd.

Another attempt for Morris to get this right, but Hal Teja makes his first contribution of the game by getting up high and across and making a perfectly timed steal.

He comes down quickly and it looks like the Crabs may form a maul here. They do, but make absolutely no progress. The ball comes out of the back of the maul and Phifteenplus makes a run at the line. Speirs comes across on a lateral run himself and Phifteenplus makes a perfectly timed offload to him. He's set Speirs up perfectly for a line break.

The Sharks are completely unprepared for this. Surely the fresh legs of Edwards or Witters can chase down the jaded Speirs? No, Speirs fends away Edwards and shuffles to evade Witters!

TRY! What a lovely move by the Crabbies there.

Somerset hasn't had an easy kick all game, and this is no exception. He misses again!

    Sharks 36 - 15 Crabs

Pretzel Spark on for Crossfire Hurricane
    Shriram replaces Ryabovol
    Kao for Furball
    Raftery on for Somerset

Crabs on the attack, only 7m from the line. Double Dong is tackled by Sam Graham, but Crabs pile in and secure the ball. Phifteenplus passes quickly out to Shriram looking for a quick overlap on the outside...

    ...but Shriram drops it cold.

    Knock on, scrum.

Sharks secure their scrum and Logan hoofs the ball clear up field.

    And that's the match.

Much better 2nd half from the Crabs. In fact, they won the second half 7 - 10, but the damage had already been done.

  19. Notsure SM Green

Probably should have won that match by more but still a good win first up.
