Imagine if they did make the quarters.

Would be so amazing for rugby in japan

Even more so with the next wc being held there

I work with a proud RSA man... oh boy he'll be so gutted!!!

Wow that's one game I need to see the replay of!

This pool is wide open now... coming second in the pool of death may have just become a lot easier. My prediction would be weird shit to happen everywhere now and SA could possibly still come out on top, With Japan to lose to Samoa but maybe beat Scotland

Wow I wonder how much money ppl betting on that game made!

Japan were absolutely golden and the Saffers were average, whilst not exceptionally bad. I am also going to say that the referee was pretty bad overall, although I don't reckon that the calls were absolutely match defining apart from one where he actually admitted that he made a mistake, but held with his initial call from which position Japan got 3 points. Contrast this to Joubert just now in the France vs Italy game where he awarded a try after a TMO call and then saw another mistake in finishing on the big screen and actually re-referred the try to the TMO and the try was disallowed in the end.

I can't even imagine anyone putting money on Japan to win that game.

This. And not Jean De Villiers and not Du Toit. Marcell Coetzee should have been there, his pace and industry make him an asset in fast paced games like that.

Edit: At some stages I was actually rooting for De Villiers to get injured again, lol.

It's amazing just seeing how much that result meant to the Japanese players and the fans in the crowd.

Surely this result is amazing to anyone that isn't South African. Poor Springboks have won 1 from 4 tests this year. Making a habit of losing late in the game (v Aussie, New Zealand and now Japan).

Like I said SA looked weak. Japan's D was amazing. Truly awesome for them and rugby.

There was no shame in losing either the Australian or New Zealand game. It was the Argentinian game that was concerning. I still reckon South Africa will probably win their pool and maybe have one good performance in a quarter final before crashing out.

Wow. Great to see results like this'n and the Georgia vs. Tonga game, perhaps more teams are making it up to the competitive level.

 Such a gun result. Loved the Japanese fans.
