Preseason Comp Groups and Discussion (Morton Cup)

The initial stage of the pre-season tournament will be split into eight groups. Each team will play the other teams in their group and then, if they are in a group of three rather than a group of four, an inter-group match. The winner of each group will qualify for the quarter finals, from which point the competition will become a knockout.

The points system for the group ladders will work the same as the CricSim ladder. In the event of a drawn or tied match in a knockout game, the team which lead on first innings will proceed. In the event of a tied or drawn game with a tied first innings, there will be a re-match.

 

Yeah Hobbs group looks h4x but because teams will be using this comp essentially as a set of trials, it'll come down a lot more to how teams' depth and fringe players go. Big guns unlikely to play much until we get to the quarters I reckon.
