    Yeah it's suspicious. Plus Broncos have offered him 1m for 2026. But he wants 1m now. He wants out of a club that's looked after him, over maybe 100k after tax per year? He will lose that in cost of living if he moves to Sydney. It's no surprise this has all happened since Haas linked up with SBW and Khoder Nasser. I'll be shocked if he's not at the Roosters next year.

    I was a big fan of him coming through the grades but not over the last few years. Just too cumbersome for the modern day game IMO, takes all the cheap metre hit ups to pad his stats, can't seem to combat a simple fast moving defence on a tight carry and just takes too many poor carries every game.

    I don't really know what Robinson is looking for to be honest. He's behind Taukeiaho, Hargreaves and Collins and I really like Baker, E Butcher and Terrell May as up and comers so seems odd.

    Unless JWH's injury is worse that they're leading on it makes little sense as he doesn't fix any of our current issues.

    If we were going to sign a disgruntled ex-Wests Tigers NYC prop with anger management issues I would've much rather it have been Nathan Brown.

    All fair points.

    Another major issue is his discipline. Gives away plenty of penalties and restarts and will probably spend time on the sidelines.

    He does have the odd game where he'll rip in and have a blinder though.

    This is probably what has shit me the most about him over time and probably why I’ve blown up about him in the past.

    When the circumstances are right, i.e his side have dominated possession so the opposition defence is a little tired and there’s no line speed or he’s been able to pad out his stats with a bunch of kick return hitups off restarts he’ll just become a ball hog and pad out his stats and then you see all this bullshit about how he’s lead from the front and was a big factor in the win when really he’s just profited from the situation.

    I think he’s first grade standard, he’s just at the lower end of that scale.

    Warriors signed CNK and has given Walsh permission to negotiate with the Broncos for 2023 onwards.

    Interesting that they were specific about "the Broncos" and not simply "return to SE Qld". Do they not want him dealing with Pete/The Dolphins, or is it some favour to the Broncos for releasing him to them in the first place? Warriors CEO is an odd guy I guess.

    TMM isn't even contracted for next year, although there was some talk about him signing a deal that wasn't finalized. There are rumours saying they will be getting TMM and possibly one of the Broncos young kiwis.

    If they don't let Brooks go can they still afford Bateman?

    I feel like Brooks is a serviceable half for a mid-table side if you can build a good spine around him. But with him chewing up 800k+ of the cap there's just no chance of that, shouldn't be on more than 300-400k max and should be playing a supporting half role.

    Smart call is to release him, reinvest that money into Bateman plus a replacement half or just play Douiehi there.

    If they release Hastings and keep Brooks they are cooked.

    I think this has been pretty clear for most of his career, kind of feels like Tigers aren't the club for him to be a le to play that role, so much water has passed under the bridge that if he's not one of the best on week in week out he'll be forever copping the criticism.

    To go to a new club with a new smaller contract would remove do much pressure. Seems like an ideal time to move him on given Tigers have Hastings, Douiehi and Laurie. With an improved pack, Api at 9 and Staines putting a bit of pressure on Laurie I feel like they've got a great chance to start fresh.


    Though they seem set on forever bringing back old players. I still tend to think Tedesco will finish his career there.

    Our dumb fuck club could easily release Brooks to the Knights and then sign Frizell, Klemmer and Nathan Brown. Play Doueihi at 6, Hastings 7.

    I saw something saying that Bateman and Hastings didn't get on at Wigan, and they were gonna potentially get rid of Hastings to make Bateman happy.

    I don't really know how to feel about this, because both teams will come out with an improved side on paper. But the fact that these are the guys you are looking to trade is madness really.

    Is such a better balance than having Brooks in there. Going to be that much extra pressure on Brooks now too.

    I actually do hope he and the Tigers get it together for the fans sake, the packs looking good, but geez it seems like they've let the wrong half go, with the call seeming to come from Sheens, the guy that fucked them over to started this run of mediocrity/sub mediocrity.
