    Fuck me you're over the fucking salary cap, not everyone else, not fucking Greenberg.

    It's an ultimatum. Keep this team if you want but you won't be playing for points and will probably face further sanctions. Shed the amount of salary cap to make your team legal according to the competition's rules and you can accrue points. It seems to me the most sensible solution and ruling that there could have been.

    I was calling Greenberg a fuck knuckle for trying to act like he has the Eels best interest at heart. Just come out and label it as a punishment, don't try and put a spin on it by claiming the Eels will come out of this stronger than ever.

    Was just speaking someone who does some contract work for player agents and he said the hardest part of this for the Eels is the fact that all the players have already been paid 6 months worth of their annual remuneration.

    So releasing 575k worth of payments to get under the cap is actually more like releasing 1.15m worth of talent. May not be worth it in the grand scheme of things.

    None.

    From what I understand the release was player initiated, Jennings wanted to move closer to home/family and the Roosters weren't too fussed because it meant they could extend Cordner and Hastings contracts by giving them a little more in 2016 to sweeten the deal.

    So how much of Jennings contract is actually sitting free in the cap at the moment is anyone's guess.

    The Jennings signing is what shits me the most about Parramatta. They already got found out last year and were let off pretty lightly, then decided the best way to get things back on track was signing an Origin player in fucking February right before the season started when they were already a little bit over the cap. Just reckless disregard. If they hadn't done that they'd probably have just copped another fine.

    ok im not the biggest NRL fan (i follow Storm a little bit) but why did Storm lose flags and Parramatta bascially get off free? unless theres a difference im missing, seem like Melbourne got butt fucked

    Yeah they copped a big fine, lost all their points so far for this season, had their Auckland Nines title stripped and have been forced to have members of their board stand down.

    It's very similar to what happened to Melbourne. Only difference was that Melbourne had actually won stuff while they were cheating.

    Have to shed a player worth just shy of 300K to be playing for points.

    De Gois
    Gordon
    Norman
    Peats
    Paulo

    Are their only off contract players that would be on that sort of money.

    No club would even consider De Gois or Gordon because they're old and shit. I'd presume Parra would want to hold onto Norman and Peats too. Paulo is their best running forward, but has signed elsewhere already for next season.

    Seems like an absolute no-brainer to me.
