They should come third...

Newcastle getting ready for the Kiwi invasion.

Saw as some of the Tongans jogging along the Tyne this morning.

3. Rego RS Hutchinson

Naholo at 11 and NMS at 14 which I expected - didn't think it'd be the other way around. Savea needs a rest. He hasn't looked anything above par but Naholo was average too.

Guess who I managed to speak to today?

Mealamu and Skudder.

The whole team had been down to Darlington Rugby Ground for the usual meet and greet etc and then came back to Saint James park to get a chance to have their Captains Run.

I had had a job interview in town this afternoon and thought I would head up to SJP afterwards and catch a glimpse of the guys training....the good thing is, that being a Newcastle season ticket holder I can get access to inner part of the ground, where the public can't, just used the excuse that I needed to book some tickets for an away game!!

to cut the tl:dr They were just finishing an interview for our local news and I asked if they would sign an autograph for my son. They were both really nice blokes. They stopped and chatted for about ten minutes and were asking about my sons rugby team and who he played for etc...

I imagine Mealamu as a top bloke - always seems very genuine.

You don't realise how big these fuckers are until you are up close!!

he does seem like a genuine nice guy though, they were genuinely impressed with the ground and facilities and were impressed with the north east people and commented on how friendly everyone was and the welcome they had received.

7. Starris ER Starris

Yeah that was on the news the other night... did looks the business though.
We don't get them like that over here.

8. SmellyStuff MP Chung

Ask Mealamu about "that" tackle?

9. Fiery GR Smith

Yeah because Mealamu and Umaga are such filthy players. What a huge media beat up that was at the time...followed by some colossal whinging by O'Driscoll himself.

10. Squeaks ZW Poole

I believe the team gets named tonight?

So my prediction:

1. Crockett
2. Coles
3. Owen Franks
4. Brodie
5. Whitelock
6. Kaino
7. McCaw
8. Read
9. Smith
10. Carter
11. Savea
12. Nonu
13. Smith
14. NMS
15. Smith

16. Mealamu
17. Ben Franks
18. Charlie
19. Vito
20. Cane
21. TKB
22. Barrett
23. SBW

11. Squeaks ZW Poole

All of the above correct bar Ben Franks. They have gone with Moody instead who only came in 4 days ago.

12. Madness B Morganpola

So when ABs lose/stumble over the line to victory will it be the greatest number of caps retired in one go??

13. Starris ER Starris

Probably

14. Squeaks ZW Poole

Predicting same team expect Moody to start and Franks to the bench with Crockett out injured (not confirmed yet). Hopefully NMS isn't out.

15. Rego RS Hutchinson

Yeah really need NMS. Naholo really can't produce the goods. Sounds like he should be good from the positive coach comments

16. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Based on current form and incumbency combined - thinking the backs looking something like this:

9 Aaron Smth
10 Cruden
11 Savea
12 Crotty
13 Ranger
14 NMS
15 Ben Smith

Back Reserves - Ngatai, MacKenzie

Fucks over Fekitoa but Meh.

NMS won't be seen in an All Blacks jersey until at least the year-end tour Hurricane

Ngatai >>>>>>>> Crotty...and Ranger.

Will be interesting if they select Ranger or not. No doubt he can play for us but as Cane has mentioned he is getting on a bit and if they are planning for the future.....depends if they get older guys in to rub off.

If Ngatai doesn't make the squad I'd be very very surprised. Don't know if he'd start the 1st match though, reckon Crotty/ Ranger with their experience probably would so agree with Cane that one of them will start, doubt both will - Fekitoa is more likely to get a starting spot.

Cruden should secure the 10 shirt, I know a lot of people are calling for Lima but can't see him starting the 10 spot until he proves himself off the bench. As good of a player Barrett is, he's a better impact player for the AB's so that hinders his chances a bit to start the 10.

NMS is out which makes way for Naholo to maybe play better than his last appearances for the ABs (depend on his leg I guess). The likes of Osbourne, Lowe will be licking their lips. Could see Ranger put in at 14 tbh. I guess they could move Ben Smith to 14 and trial Mackenzie out at 15 but tbh Mackenzie is really going to be living in Smith's shadow, so even if he does get a call up I can't see him playing too much in the future.

I like Barrett as an impact player... and I hope Lima proves himself sooner rather than later.
Cruden has been around a while and had the odd injury... Lima is much younger and could be another Carter who fills the spot for 10years and it's such a pivotal position if we had a world class player there for a good length of time it'll fill one hole left by the mass exodus.
