    hahaha i coachedu6's one year and more than a few times had to run and catch the kids running the wrong way for us and either pick them up by the armpits to turn them towards the correct tryline or stop in front of them till they figured it out pretty funny

    Hahaha yeah I don't know how coaches do it. I definitely had to be super patient but nothing on the coaches. Also technically he grounded into the in goal but I'm like fuck they don't know which way to run how would they possibly be able to take a dropout so I just gave the other team a tap. Also at one stage this one kid was defending and no where near the play and then next minute you see him walking towards the sideline and when the coach asked where he was going he just sat down, crossed his legs and started crying for no reason hahaha

    hahaha i used to have this little kid who was quick as fuck but built like a twig with shoulderpads and headgear whod score tries if he got space to run around them but would do the same thing as soon as he got tackled once literally could score three tries untouchedbut assoon ashed get caught once it was straight to mumwith tears to play with his ipad pretty lols.

    Hahaha actually that reminds me one of the coaches today was this bogan lady and one of the kids must have been hers. He turns around and goes "Mum am I playing well" and she goes "no, go make a tackle" :laugh:

    Update;

    After the shitty weather washing the last two weeks out, I finally got to ref again on the weekend. During training we did some ref drills and given how awesome I am, I stood out from the others to the point where one of the senior peeps wanted to come watch me on the weekend and give me my first official assessment which I need in order to be accredited. So he came out and watched my last game and couldn't find much fault in what I was doing. He said if I keep that up I'll be moving up the ranks in no time.

    Anyway, I refereed U7's again but this time it was Division 1. It's crazy how different it was to the other week where I did div2. The kids could actually play without coaches on the field and knew what was going on. The quality was surprisingly good and were fairly close games. SKD turned up for the first game he must have known some kids in that game but yeah was totally random. Some of them have better positioning defensively than he does.

    Also, this week our training session is being run by Gavin Badger so I'll be bringing my A game. I'm starting to consider changing the date in the thread title to a couple of years earlier the way I'm going.

    I coach under 7s soccer and am genuinely surprised 7s league happens at all with no coaches on the field. Couldn't fathom that with my team, but there are no refs in 6s/7s in soccer so coaches have to run the game.

    Well I got a nice surprise this morning as the president of the league showed up with Dave Munro (NRL ref) to assess me. Didn't faze me though and nailed it. He said he was very impressed and was asking me if I had refereed before. Told me I should be doing much higher grades so this should be my ticket to move up the ranks.

    So change 2027 to 2020?

    Thanks mate who knows I may be refereeing one of your games in the future

    Haha maybe a couple of years less but there's no way I'm refereeing the NRL Grand Final in 4 seasons time :p

    Good news to all you supporters out there. Our hard work is starting to pay off. I have been called up to do U9s this weekend which means no more mini league and now on to Mod league.

    Today was the biggest day in my refereeing career. I have just come back from refereeing the U7s and U8s Div 1 grand finals at Redfern Oval. Great atmosphere and an awesome experience. The main event was the U8s and it lived up to the hype. It was Mascot v Coogee, 1 v 2 and Mascot were leading on the last play of the game by 4 and Coogee dives over in the corner and the corner post goes flying and everyone is screaming at me that it's a try or he was out but I did not let the pressure get to me, I called time off, went to the touchy consulted with him and blew the try which meant the game was all tied up. Unfortunately for Coogee the player who took the kick at goal from right in front had the whole world on his shoulders and barely got the ball off the ground so it was a tie and joint premiers. It was an absolutely cracking game and a fitting end to the first season of refereeing of an absolute future star.

    Don't worry though my friends, my season is not done just yet. I have been officially accredited (I can now wear a pink shirt) and I am making my touch line debut in internationals tomorrow with an U16 and U17s game. I'm moving on up in the world very quickly.

    During a scrum, is the 10 metres marked from where the ball is fed into the scrum or from the feet of the lock in the scrum?
