you're gonna get smashed unless labu saves you

  2. Captain SSD Dong

Yeah Skippos has a pretty gun team. Only weakness is the quicks and even then Roach is quality. Marnus + batting deep makes the batting quite solid.

Yeah it's solid, but I think there's better. Then again after the first 5 there's much of a muchness for the next 10 or so teams.

  4. Skippos SM Morgan

I also have tremendous confidence in Bilal Asif, so much so that I'm very open to trading/downgrading Rashid Khan and ditching the bunsen to strengthen other areas. Dowrich a handy trade chip too.

  5. Cribbage RG Cribb

The good thing about Oshada is that at least when we talk about Colombo First Grade with Sri Lankans, it actually was first grade with him. Let's not forget that Colombo Second Grade also has First Class status now.

I don't see anyone picking Andrew Gode yet, but still.

At least CricInfo has the decency to seperate the two divisions *shakes fist at the Ranji Plate being combined with the proper stuff*

How do you think I feel? Took me ages to code that out separately, and then I had to do it again the following season. I'll probably have to write new code each season they do this ffs.

  8. Baxter MJ Deane

    Yet.

  9. Athlai JJD Heads

  10. Skippos SM Morgan

I so very, very, very nearly fell for this a few rounds ago before I understood the plate.

What happening when SA go back to a provincial domestic structure? :)

  13. Captain SSD Dong

can’t wait for someone to pick the guy averaging 5 with the ball

  14. morgieb MC Burridge

    Wasn't he picked in CWPL?

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

It'll deal with that fine by itself once it realises there are more teams playing and the top 28 bats/18 bowlers suddenly have much better records each season, thankfully. :p

    >inb4 people think I've given away a cheat code with those numbers
If it wasn't totally misleading I wouldn't have posted it. :)

    Round 12
    1. Cabinet96 - Shahbaz Nadeem (31872)
Oddly his recent Ranji record isn't quite as good as I imagined, but he maintains a very solid A-team record and did very well in his only Test. Should be a gun pick at this range.

    2. Phlegm - Tom Bruce (707113)
Another pretty good pick. Very fine FC record (though the lack of centuries is a bit of a barrier) and can bowl too. Just a shame T20I's don't count.

    3. Julian - Jonathan Trott (47623)
Another pick I quite like. Was in good form before retirement and should be a quality 3 in this.

    4. Athlai - Jimmy Neesham (355269)
His Plunket Shield form suggests "no-rounder" and probably shouldn't have been picked this early, but his recent ODI form has been absoutely gun. A very nice pick at this point.

    5. Captain - Naseem Shah (1158088)
Awesome record thus far in his career but the sample size is very small which could nullify the effects of it. Still would've gone him a fair bit earlier though so a great pick in that regard.

    6. Benny - Dawid Malan (236489)
Coming off a pretty good FC season + the runs he scored in Australia should help here. Not having T20I's count hurt a bit but I think it's an OK pick.

    7. MrPrez - Stephen Cook (44656)
Unfortunately his form towards the end of his career was kind of patchy, nevertheless it wasn't terrible and he was regularly playing Tests around 2016-17. It's a fair enough selection.

    8. Gazza - Ryan ten Doeschate (47660)
Hard to gague, on paper this would be a great pick but he's gone backwards in the last three years and rarely bowls anymore either. Hard to say it's a shocker though given his 2017 and 18 seasons were still decent given it was coming from Div 1.

    9. Magrat Garlick - Lasith Malinga (49758)
Has played one FC game in the last ten years. Then again he's remained very solid at ODI level (if a bit worse in recent times) so can see the logic. You're lucky that injury proneness is randomised otherwise he'd be lucky to play three games for you :p

    10. Baxter - Todd Astle (213674)
Excellent pick, though the fact that he hasn't played a lot of FC cricket recently kinda detracts from the quality of selection especially given he wasn't regularly in ODI side. Still when he was regularly playing he was the best Kiwi spinner in the Plunket Shield and can bat, so therefore should've been picked a lot closer to the other ones especially given he's also a leggie.

    11. Alex - Akila Dananjaya (574178)
On domestic form a pretty ordinary pick, but forunately he's played enough internationals and done enough in them to make this pick viable. I like it especially given Cribb has said he won't be nerfed for chucking.

    12. GoodAreasShane - Dane Cleaver (440517)
Has been very good in the last two years given the Plunkett in recent years has been rather bowler friendly. Less good this year but this is a good pick and probably a better player than your first-choice keeper.

    13. HeathDavisSpeed - Nauman Ali (238672)
His last two seasons have been silly. Should be a quality spinner given that.

    14. Number 11 - Jamie Porter (511252)
Given he took most of his wickets at Div 1 level this is a very nice pick at this point, even if his last two seasons have been a bit meh (compared to his 2017 one)

    15. Howe and Dan - Qais Ahmad (914171)
Don't really rate it. On paper he should be going around here but most of his hype comes from T20's which won't count for this. His Afghan FC record is good but 1. there's not much to it and 2. it's hard to really rate Afghan domestics. Probably would've gone elsewhere.

    16. morgieb - Shimron Hetmyer (670025)
Interesting one - fairly average FC record (admittedly in not easy conditions for batsmen), but has been very good at ODI cricket which should help out a lot. He also seems a perfect option at 5/6 behind a Top 4 that loves to accumulate (which my one does). So makes sense, though there's a couple of other options that went after him that would be even better.

    17. Hunter - Jon Holland (230368)
Before 2017 he would've been an outstanding pick given his Shield record compared to other Aussie spinners, but his last couple of seasons have been a bit more meh. Still a good point at this point.

    18. Chewie - Imam Ul-Haq (568276)
Like Hetmyer a lot depends on how much his awesome ODI record can bail him out (he's better at ODI cricket than Hetty but probably worse at FC level), because without it it'd be a fairly meh pick even at this range. Still, I think he should still be good enough given it.

    19. ElvisSpike - Junaid Khan (259551)
Mixed bag. Bad FC season this year (admittedly on roads) but his few FC performances in recent years before that was epic. Did well-ish in his few ODI stuff he's played since injury. Pretty solid selection for Rd 12.

    20. Skippos - Misbah-ul-Haq (41378)
Great pick. Should really have been considered much earlier than this, he was still playing pretty recently and his form upon retirement was still decent.

    21. jimmy_c8 - Chris Rushworth (20032)
Without his 2019 season I'd be a bit meh on this pick as he's taken his wickets at Div 2 + Durham is a very green pitch, but it's gonna be hard to nerf someone out of averaging 17. Pretty good pick.

    22. spark!ptz - Riley Meredith (961713)
Early, for mine. He does have genuine pace but his FC record right now is still pretty average. He might improve if fast tracked in the short format teams but even now he's shown the most in T20 stuff which won't count for this purpose. Better options were left over.

    23. StephenZA - David Bedingham (498585)
Very little track record in his FC career thus far, but what he has played has been very good so far. He might still be n00bowned but at this point it's a fair enough pick.

    24. Boobidy - Fawad Ahmed (240609)
Not sure, I guess Australian domestics isn't great for spin but his recent record there isn't terrific even by spinner standards and right now he's a specialist T20 player. Plus you already had a leggie. Don't really like it.

(and as a bonus - the remaining R11 pick)

    6. ElvisSpike - Obus Pienaar (328160)
Actually a pretty good pick. His franchise record is actually pretty decent and even if it wasn't his SC record recently is that good that would make him likely OK.

    Best pick:

Oddly a lot of pretty gun picks at this point. Gonna say Misbah though.

    Worst pick:

Probably Qais Ahmed. Not a lot of options for this area, which is a bit of a surprise.

Just a shame it was Rd 11 rather than 12 :p

  19. Athlai JJD Heads

    Misbah, Junaid or mine then.

  20. Dan DB Wayne

    Misbah imo
