I think they were by far our best pairing last season actually. The downside is that theyre both right footed but its not the end of the world

Saying they were our best pairing is damning with faint praise IMO. I'd agree, but it still leaves me uneasy as it stands. But there's time to improve...

Disappointed that Herrera is being overlooked by LVG. He definitely adds some creativity and has a knack of appearing at the right places at the right time. Didn't do much wrong last season. With the lack of chances created, I would like to see him there instead of Januzaj. He's not exactly a number 10 but if Januzaj is being employed there, I can't see how Herrera can do worse.

Do you guys think that he won't fit in at all in the 4-2-3-1?

  4. Uppercut CB Faldo

His best position in it would be in the "2" alongside Carrick or Schwein, but Schneiderlin has been our second-best player there this season after Smalling. I do think he could play 10 but I think Januzaj has huge potential too and if LVG has seen something from him in training I'm fine with him getting a few games there to see how he does. He should maybe have got some time off the bench but I guess you only get so many subs and Fellaini is probably the better game-changing option for when we really need a goal.

We're lucky to have almost everyone fit right now, but that won't last and even though he's not quite first-choice Herrera should end up playing a decent chunk of games for us this season.

The same thing happened last year. Foudn himself a bit in the wilderness at the start but then played himself into undroppable form. Can see that happening again when (and it is likely a when) Carrick and Schweiny get injured at the same time

Herrera confirmed starting today. Hopefully he does well.

    Rooney :toot:

Hate games like this. Expected to walk the game so it can only go averagely or worse. With so much riding on it too

Just tuned in and it's rather strange to see Gary Lineker on anything other than the Beeb itbt.

Nice finish from Rooney for the goal.

  9. Mariner CL Warrington

And that'll be the tie. Nice team goal.

Great vision from Schweinsteiger, wonder if they'll take Hererra off now

    What a ball by Schweiny.

"If you kick the ball in the air, it will dip"

Great insight from Michael Owen there, who's clearly never been exposed to gravity

  16. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

That's not what he said at all he said the technique for that kind of shot looks alot harder than it is because it naturally gets that dip with the way you have to kick it. Of course it sounds dumb if you purposefully dumb it down

Well that pen's a bit harsh
