    few minutes.

Wouldn't mind seeing play not stop for 'injuries' unless the referee eventually deems it serious enough to be stretchered off, similar to AFL. As soon as the game is stopped the injured player must not re-enter the field for 10 minutes or so.

Yeah I agree. The diving is just kind of funny and necessary to stop defenders from constantly making it almost impossible to play decent football. No one really minds outside of Britain, where it's seen as a threat to our archaic notions of masculinity.

They do need to clamp down on the rolling around on the floor. Using a rugby-style clock would solve it to some extent but I'd also love to see bookings for players that react differently to having their face brushed against than they would if they were in a pub. They should be dishing out bookings even when they're punishing the player who raised his hand too, just for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Actually what I'd love to see an end to is referees copping out when two players square up to each other. 99 times out of 100 that always ends with both players getting booked, no matter who's to blame.

Most grassroots refs have 2 watches going. One where they let it run through to 45 mins. 1 that they stop when the ball goes out. Meaning they can accurately say how much minimum extra time there is goin to be

It only in the pros where they go by a sub is x a goal is y and ignore other stuff

That's crazy. You'd expect the opposite if anything.

    Half a watch?

 Nah, I meant you'd expect the pros to be accurately measured and the grassroots stuff to just cop approximations based on key stats.

    I no wat u ment

Obviously the stoppages don't fully count things like quick throws, but you can't get too anal about it

Yeh same. It's the reason I can't watch Italian, Spanish or South American football. I actually stopped watching English football for a while 6 or 7 years ago because it was becoming a problem over here.

Or just let the physio come on when a player goes down and have play carry on around them. If the injury is then deemed serious the med staff can signal to the 4th official who can let the ref know to stop the game.

Disciplinary action can then be given to any player/and or club who abuses this system with retrospective bans etc. Or yellow cards at the time.

    Yeh this would be good.

Essentially I just want football to man the fuck up, and stop acting like overpaid fairies.

It also annoys me that there's no universal standard for time keeping, so you get ridiculous situations in the CL. Refs blowing for full time at a corner or not adding on any more time despite two goals being scored in stoppage time, it shouldn't be happening in the knockout stages.

The CL has such an atrocious standard of refereeing generally. It made me realise how far the Premiership's refereeing has come.

The higher the level the worse the refereeing seems to be. The World Cup is dreadful, mainly because we get refs from shit countries like Egypt.
