Has Any Team Ever Won Championship Then The EPL?

    I was wondering if a team has ever won the championship then went to the EPL and won that while i was playing Football Manager 2013.

    No, but then the Championship has only been around since 2004 and the EPL has only been around since 1992.

    The First Division has been around since the late 19th century but it's only been called the Premier League since '92.

    Liverpool were promoted in 1905 and won the first division in 1906
    Everton promoted 1931, champions in 1932
    Spurs promoted 1950, champions in 1951
    Ipswich Town promoted 1961, champions in 1962
    Nottingham Forest promoted in 1977, champions in 1978

    Nah. No-one's been prepared to put that much money into a second-tier club, which is realistically the only way it could happen.

    in recent years highest finish is about 7/8th id guess. think ipswich may have done it in 2000 and bolton in 2002 ?

    Newcastle went up and finished 3rd in the 93/94 season. Would be the closest since the Premier League came into being I'd imagine.

    Yeah I can't realistically see it happening again in the modern era, unless something dramatically changed in terms of finances. Even if someone bought a Championship side and just pumped money in to a crazy level they'd probably still fail as it takes longer than a season to gel a squad together.

    We played in the championship in the 09/10 season. Came 12th in the 10/11 season and then 5th last season
