Was gutted he went to league... he could of had an even better career.

Didn't want to pick Campese but couldn't find wingers outside of picking some of the current ABs and I don't think they've made their marks yet.

Also wanted to put in Frank Bunce.

While doing this came to the realisation that NZ lacks a legend at half back - well we do in my lifetime.

Don't think Wilkinson is in the same league as Carter offensively. Wilkinson did well sticking to a game plan which he shouldered far less play making responsibilities. That being said though he probably didn't have the weapons outside him to attack with confidence

  3. Starris ER Starris

Yeah it's hard to judge some players... a guy like O'Driscoll had been in a great side he could have been devastating. Or some players classed as greats may not have been noticed in lessor teams.

    Edwards
    Carter
    Caucaunibuca
    Horan
    BOD
    Robinson
    Cullen

    Defend against that!!

Or a more hard nosed approach

    JvdW
    Wilko
    Kirwin
    Umaga
    Sella
    Lomu
    JPR

  5. MrPrez CM Dyer

I think Carter is pretty much in his own league though. Wilkinson is a best of the rest guy.

  6. Jabba HJ Bots

I'd take Mehrtens over Wilkinson if he won a world cup

    Agreed

Epic group of 10s there. I would have also liked to have seen Jonathan Davies on the list.

    Cheers

People can look back on this post in 7-8 years.

Beauden Barrett will be on the list above as one of the greats of all time

  11. Starris ER Starris

Hopefully but he has a long way to go before then.

  12. MrPrez CM Dyer

Wilkinson fell off a fair bit towards the end of his career. That said, I haven't seen much of Fox so can't comment.

  13. Jabba HJ Bots

Got to displace Cruden under Stevie's you have to play your way out of the team policy.... I can't wait till when he does though, such a talent

  14. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

    Gregan
    Spencer
    Cauca
    Horan
    Mortlock
    Robinson
    Latham

  15. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Mortlock should be disqualified for occasionally playing in gloves.

  16. Julian BJ Taylor

    You're all obviously pretty young.

  17. Hurricane JD Hurricane

    How old are you?

  18. Starris ER Starris

Fox was a great 10. He wasn't much for running and scoring tries but he was fantastic at everything else. He steered the ship for years.

  19. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Listening to Fox commentate on why a goal kicker has screwed up is a real treat

  20. Starris ER Starris

Yeah... I was in a crowd that managed to get Fox to miss a kick from pretty much out in front... was probably the worst kick I saw him take... HB vs Auckland... They smashed us iirc.

We still made him miss that kick and it must of hurt!
